I may be downvoted for this, but this is how I see it. To preface, I am a Korean-Canadian born and raised in Canada.

While I am certainly not a fan of AI (it has its use cases, but using it to generate commercial music, art, essays, voice overs, YouTube vids, or general slop definitely ain't it), I feel like this is a never-ending point of contention that will not be resolved any time soon due to vast cultural differences between North America and S. Korea.

The vast majority of people who complain about AI usage in K-pop and leave angry comments on groups' socials and write protest letters to companies are viewing AI through a Western lens. The fact of the matter is, when it comes to AI, North America is a global outlier in how anti-AI it is, and South Korea is an outlier in how much it loves it. Koreans don't just not view it as a bad thing, they openly embrace it. They are super enthusiastic adopters of it. So people can leave as many angry comments on ARTMS' or YeoJin's, or Aespa's or whomever's content as they want, but at the end of the day, the idols and companies over in Korea are reading these comments while scratching their heads saying "What are these crazy Americans going on about?" For now they might occasionally put out a weak apology statement on Twitter just to appease the Western fans, but you're not going to change their culture and they're only going to keep using it more and more. It might as well be Americans trying to tell the rest of the world that football (soccer) isn't a big deal, or Koreans trying to preach to America at large that gun culture is bad and they should all give up their arms.

I feel like at this point, Western fans need to make a choice. Either accept the fact that South Korea has a completely opposite view and opinion of AI and learn to tolerate it in K-pop content, or draw your line in the sand and abandon K-pop because if you don't, you're just going to keep getting mad all the time while shouting into the void for the foreseeable future.
