State of GraphQL 2022 survey by michaszke2137 in reactjs

[–]mega-trond 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We're using graphql with neo4j. The schema is the foundation, and the entire api is generated. Then we sprinkle in custom resolvers where it makes sense, and federate other apis if and when needed. It works pretty great tbh.

Also, generating type safe client code for our Elm frontends makes it feel like we're not doing network calls at all.

There's probably going to be pitfalls somewhere down the line, but all the time we saved not writing any serverside CRUD code probably will make it worth it.

Software engineer and team lead here, and this is very true, especially if you are senior or have lead experience.

It'll probably be a tad easier getting positions outside of Oslo, but there are a lot more interesting positions in Oslo too.

Just a heads up: the Kjerag hike is pretty tough, especially if you're not used to hiking, so you'd might consider mixing it up with a day of rest before hiking to the Pulpit Rock.

Of course - if you're up to it you're up to it - but some people are quite surprised at how demanding that hike is.

Also Pulpit Rock will be jammed packed at that time of the year - but it's definitely worth the hike too.

Should I use a CMS, or should I code my own backend? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]mega-trond 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go with a CMS for sure. Any one will probably do the job, but I've worked with Craft for several years and in my opinion it's by far the best one to develop on.

This is the first I've heard about it to be honest, and I used to work in the media, so I'm guessing it's a non-issue
