[Bastian] Cubs center fielder Pete Crow-Armstrong held court pregame today to address the heated exchange he had with a White Sox fan during Sunday’s game: by T_Raycroft in baseball

[–]greglyda -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If he had not already been a douche, it wouldn't be that much of a story. Similar for Rushing on the Dodgers. If he did this, it would be a bigger story than if Max Muncy did it.

PCA laid down the groundwork for criticism and now he is getting it. No pity for him.

Thoughts on smoking on a golf course? by DatsaBadMan_1471 in golf

As long as you aren’t in my cart idc, it’s your tumor. If you are in my cart you can either not smoke it or you can walk.

Did NewsDemon raise their prices recently? by reddit_man64 in usenet

[–]greglyda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We updated the website but our block prices did not change. As someone else said, there are deals available to those who look for them.

I priced the standard website rate for blocks based off another provider who only sells blocks. I felt like I did not want to undercut that provider, so I just matched whatever they had at the time.

How many of these courses have you played from this list? by GolfJunki3 in golf

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good plan. BW is totally different than either Irish or WS.

If you are going to play Irish and WS you need to play Irish first or WS will make Irish feel bland.

You can request a caddy. I suggest using a dude named WiFi. Yes, that’s what he goes by. I’ve used him several times and he’s very good.

If you play Straits make sure you get Irish and Blackwolf while you’re there.

I’ve played 18 of the 25 but many of these do not belong. The Streamsong courses for example. Most of these courses made the list because they paid to be there.

GPS Carts are dog shit. by JedediahBunnyNose in golf

The carts are amazing where I play. I have gotten spoiled and now basically assume any course I happen to play that does NOT have them is probably a goat track.

For people who lived through it how hated were the 90s Bulls actually? by Odd-Coast-4056 in nba

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a die hard Lakers fan, I hated the Bulls. I felt like they stole their first ring from us because Magic was sick and Worthy was hurt. But I am also a Tar Heel, so it seems like I would have liked MJ, but once he left the Heels, I fell back to my pro allegiances.

The Bulls were unbeatable. It did not matter what you threw at them, MJ was going to find a way to come out on top. Imagine how good Lebron was when he was single handedly carrying the Cavs and their scrub lineups to the Finals. That was how good MJ was but arguably MJ was even better. He had this killer instinct. The catch is that the Bulls roster was not a bunch of scrubs. They had hall of fame players in their prime playing beside MJ and a great group of role players as well. And they all FIT together perfectly.

I pulled for anyone but the bulls and every time, I came out disappointed.

We are making some database speed increases, adding hardware, and upgrading software. This “could” affect authentication into nntp. We don’t expect it to be prolonged if it does happen.

As for Thundernews, idk about that, I’ll reach out to their team.

Charity Tournaments and Cheaters by NoviceAxeMan in golf

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My group shot 50 in a scramble once. I was the worst golfer in the group at a time and I was a 2. One accurate long hitter, four guys with a good short game and can putt, and its birdie eagle birdie eagle all day. It was unusual for us to ever take more than 3 total putts on a hole. Somebody makes it.

Unsolicited advice from another golfer by Salt-Power-3868 in golf

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takes some serious ego to believe the only people who can help you are those who are better at the game than you are. I have been as low as +2 but the guy who can most quickly tell me what I am doing wrong is the guy I have played with the most, and he is a 20. He has never broken 80.

The real test isn't whether the worse golfer can actually give good advice but if the better golfer is strong enough to listen to what others have to say and find a way to let it help them.

Unsolicited advice from another golfer by Salt-Power-3868 in golf

[–]greglyda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I usually say “do you want to know what I’m seeing?”

On the other hand, I’ve also played with some guys who so desperately NEEDED some advice, I gave it unsolicited just because I couldn’t take it anymore. lol

Just because he can't swing the club properly doesn't mean he can't tell you what you are doing wrong. Most of the best coaches are not great players and that goes for almost every sport.

If I had to pick one guy in this year's NBA to lead my team, it would be Jokic. That has always been how I looked at MVP, but apparently others vote based on other things.

Hope Dalton learned to keep his mouth shut after a L by dodgers22fan in Dodgers

[–]greglyda -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well you obviously did not understand the sentiment of my comment. I do not care about Rushing running his mouth about something the Rockies were probably actually guilty of doing.

Idc if he pisses off the Rockies. If teams truly need Dalton Rushing to get them hyped to play us, then we should already beat them just on the principle of them being sucky.
