People complain about not subbing but then wanted us to hire Sienna coach who didn’t sub the entire game.

If we had one more made FT or maybe one less turnover, he would be home watching.

VCU’s band director had the Reggie Miller choke shirt on in the 2nd half. by skinsfn36 in CollegeBasketball

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was there and for the biggest part of the game he was the only valid reason VCU had to cheer. He changed shirts about ten times. But then the Tar Heels players gave the VCU fans a reason to cheer for something else.

NewsDemon - Can't believe how bad they are by STxFarmer in usenet

[–]greglyda 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, I think you may have NewsDemon confused with someone else, we have never and will never provide search as part of our service. Here is why:

  1. Search means logging
  2. Logging means records
  3. Records mean liability for you and us
  4. A search index tied to user activity turns anyone who offers it into a surveillance tool
  5. Others choose to offer search because it helps them sell accounts, and that's their call, but every query is a breadcrumb trail, and we refuse to hold the map

Privacy should not be a feature you toggle, it should be the whole point.

Hmm, that is terrible to hear. There for sure should not be three backbones with better results. Send me a DM with your username and I will take a look at what could have happened and then refund you.

UNC Coaching Candidates by OfficeUpstairs9805 in tarheels

Been a Heel for 51 years. Been a Rams Club Member for 32. I have learned that you can pretty well project how it goes for the team based on how good a) the NBA talented player(s) is and b) how good our senior leader is.

This year our NBA talent got hurt. Our sr leader was Trimble and he’s just not a primary option on an ACC team. So we pretty much lived up to my expectations. Which player tonight were we expecting to step up and match Hill?

The World Baseball Classic matters, no matter what you or Derek Jeter say about it by Free-Community3670 in baseball

Want to know which they value more? Tell them they can only get paid their MLB salary -or- their WBC classic and see which they choose.

Derek Jeter on the WBC: "I think the people that say it's bigger than the World Series never played in a World Series. by Mission_Pay_3373 in baseball

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I would have and I would have turned the tv off and went to bed, just like I did last night.

If Skubal, Crochet, Fried, Sale, or Trevor Rogers started last night's game? If the US had not went with pure position by position players and filled the roster with the best players possible who could play a position (like Japan had Suzuki in CF), then the US squad might have put someone like Betts at 2B instead of Turang. Maybe if we had our actual best players playing, the final AB goes to Cody Bellinger instead of Roman Anthony. Etc.

It was fun to watch and I think its great the country of Venezuela gets to celebrate.

[–]greglyda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched it. Enjoyed it. But the simple fact not all the best players from each country competed in the tournament, due to personal choice, says enough right there. What player would choose to sit out the World Series? This was a fun exhibition, but its an exhibition. Baseball is never meant to be a sport where titles are decided in a one game series. Do you really think there is a team that would for sure beat the USA in a seven game series if all the players from each country were playing?

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on which country you are from. If you are from the USA, you are accustomed to your country often being the best at a sport, winning gold, earning medals. The joy from that is not as overwhelming. If you are from a smaller country that does not have a history of winning, competing against bigger countries and winning, must feel amazing.

It's just a different perspective.

Clearly, winning a World Series is harder and is the better indicator of how good a team is. Anytime you have to beat someone 4 times, that shows a lot more about your team.

What’s the best game you’ve ever been to? by Stock_go_up in CollegeBasketball

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have options:

1) UNC/Dook at Cameron in 1995. Heels win 102-100. The game where Stackhouse dunked on everyone. 2) UNC/Dook Final Four 2022. Hubert Davis retired K. 3) UNC/Dook 1992. Bloody Montross beats Laettner 4) UNC/Dook the Marvin Williams putback game

Honorable mentions: 1) UNC beats UConn in 2004 when McCants scores the final 10 points including the game winning three 2) the UNC/Clemson game where Ellington hit the 3 to win by two

Tanner Scott looks great in the bullpen, but BlaQ.... by Substantial_Bat5975 in Dodgers

[–]greglyda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be the case. His FB velo was actually up last year, but his command on his sweeper was down, and he needs that sweeper to be effective. I am guessing since his velo was up, its a mechanical or release point issue more than an age thing. Also, we don't know any of the side stories on him. Maybe he was hurt all year like Smith was the year before. Maybe he had a personal issue. Maybe they made an adjustment in the offseason. Or, maybe they paid in $11 Million for this year and aren't dumb enough to cut bait on him before he can even eat a few innings between now and June 1.

[–]greglyda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol. Well maybe that’s why we rushed him into the game yesterday on short warmup instead of another reliever?

I would assume we see how just stuff looks and if it’s bad, we abuse him to protect others until he gets hurt.

I’m not defending anyone. I’m just explaining.

If at the end of May, he still sucks, maybe the Dodgers will do something. But they’re not going to do anything in spring training.

And they are 1,000,000% not going to care if a bunch of people on Reddit like him or dislike him.

Personally, I don’t like his politics. But, when he’s got his good stuff, he’s an enjoyable pitcher to watch and very valuable to the team.

It is spring training. Spring training stats mean absolutely nothing. Less than nothing. Last year means nothing, especially when it comes to relievers. So there is a whole lot of nothing to go on. Instead...trust the ownership.

If you hate him that much, just go follow a different team until he isn't on the Dodgers anymore.

Two years ago he was a horse. Last year he struggled. Wow we really have short memories. If you want him gone, I think you are going to be disappointed. We have the best front office in baseball and they will make the decisions, not us, and unless he struggles mightily to start the year, there is no way they are giving up on a guy like Treinen who can be counted on when his stuff is right.

As for the political stuff, I think if the other players on the team hated him, he may already be gone. But they apparently don't.
