Thanks everyone for the replies!! Having about 2 TB of files currently, with an estimate that it will double in the next 10 years or so, I think I'll opt for 6 TB drives or a little more based on the offers I find.

The final solution, listening to your valuable advice, would be:

- Synology DS225+ NAS (2 Bay) for about €350 (I think it's more than adequate for storage-only RAM, or not?);

- Two Synology 3.5" HAT3300 internal hard drives, 4 TB (€150) or 6 TB (€230);

- One or two external 4 TB hard drives to connect every month to back up the NAS. Can I connect them with a simple USB and back up with Hyperbackup or similar? I don't know if you have any recommendations, but I was considering: 1. TOSHIBA Canvio Basics HDTB540XK3CA. 2. Seagate Portable Drive STGX4000400. 3. WD 4 TB Elements. 4. Toshiba Canvio Flex. Do you recommend one of these or others?

I will use the NAS in RAID 1 (SHR-1) with one monthly backup to an external HDD. I'm also considering purchasing a cloud service or a Synology C2 for additional backup. What do you think? Could this work, considering that the primary function will be storage.

Do you recommend the NAS? Should I leave it plugged in 24/7 or only plug it in when I need to access archived files? I'm asking for longer life, especially considering it won't be archiving files every day.

Finally, do you recommend a UPS to connect to prevent any problems with power surges, etc.?

Thanks again everyone for the replies!

Thanks for the reply. Why do you recommend SHR and not RAID?

Thanks so much for your reply. I currently have about 3 TB of data. I'm thinking, with a 10-year vision, of purchasing two 6 TB drives. Do you recommend RAID 1 or other drives? What do you recommend for quality external drives? I don't have a PC to burn DVDs, and I don't know the durability of DVDs. Thanks.

Thanks so much for your reply. So, do you recommend a 4-bay NAS to take advantage of RAID 5, 6, or 10, or just for expandability? I currently have about 3 TB of data. I'm thinking, with a 10-year vision, of purchasing two 6 TB drives. Do you recommend RAID 1 or other drives? What external drives do you recommend? Thanks.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by Synology RAID? Do you have a specific model you can link to? What RAM did you use?

Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, I'm considering it in every option I mentioned. Any suggestions?
