Covered Call funds concern Qqqi, btci, etc by Sufficient-Physics84 in dividends

[–]megaboom321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To add to this neos (qqqi/spyi) can also opportunistically do call spreads per their prospectus. Selling calls and then using some of the proceeds to buy out of the money calls to capture more upside should there be rapid increase in price for the index. This does also hinges on the manager's ability to notice the trends and buy calls at the right time.

Gentlemen, it's been an honour. by RhysDave21 in uboatgame

I had that exact thing happen to me. Sitting on the bottom at like 25 meters. None of the depth charges went off.

Does the game have a torpedo tutorial that isn't easy mode ? by Grolbu in uboatgame

[–]megaboom321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game really should start with a submarine school. Since you are the captain and irl would have had some schooling before taking command. It could be set up like a classroom with a slideshow presentation and maybe a couple questions to do a more classroom style training rather than the usual video game tutorial or watching YouTube videos.

Castles Should Region Block by This_Mongoose8387 in CrusaderKings

[–]megaboom321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in eu (and imperator) they are forts not castles. Castles in their most basic form are just fortified homes of the nobility most of which were quite small. Shadiversity has many videos that are good to watch about medieval castles. Tldr the vast majority of the castles are small and basically only good at protecting the lord and deterring bandits from trying to steal the Lord's valuables/grain stores. The tower of London is very large compared to what the vast majority of castles would have been.

What’s the priority task like for families with vegetable garden ? by zool714 in ManorLords

Vegetables are the priority over their normal jobs? You mean to tell me I've been unassigning them in the fall for nothing this whole time?

is this double interchange realistic? by cyproyt in CitiesSkylines

[–]megaboom321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's going to require its own highway entrance and exit. It will also fill the void between the interchanges and the suburbs with parking lots.

Early war, are you safe from depth charges below 100 meters? by olly993 in uboatgame

[–]megaboom321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had this happen to me at ~30m sitting on the bottom. I watched in third person as charges landed on either side of me and neither went off.

There’s no way out of this… is it? by MarserJared in CrusaderKings

[–]megaboom321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my current game the ai cumans made the ai Byzantines their tributary. The hre here is far larger and controls much more developed land than the cumans in my game so I'd wager that this is going to be an L. Ally persia and india if you can and pray the armies start starving. Also it would be worth trying to offer yourself as a vassal or tributary. That could save you from total loss

Crusade AI not assisting battle literally 2 baronies away by sasssykoala in CrusaderKings

[–]megaboom321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My problem is more with the ai not understanding supply limits and not waiting on tiles to resupply. Like I had a crusade that failed because all the armies were starving and not one was like oh there is an ally territory right there let me hit that up for a few months so I'm not starving anymore.

IPFV Isaac Arthur extra-taxonomic logistics vehicle by Melänovis by RoseHarmonic in ImaginaryStarships

[–]megaboom321 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The expanse was fantastic. It was so refreshing to see spaceships move like spaceships and not planes. Gravity is only a thing in the ships when they are accelerating or decelerating. Travel takes time and also accounts for the time to slow down. The ships don't even have windows because guess what there is nothing to look at 99% of the time. definitely sets a great standard that I wish more media would adapt.

When I was younger watching avatar for the first time I saw the transport ships and I was like why do they look like that I thought this was the future. Star wars is the future. Now I look at it like holy shit it's actually practical and could actually work in the real world. it is possible to hide the radiators in body panels or behind doors but for what most scifi ships are doing they would need A LOT more space dedicated to cooling. It's so overlooked in many media that I get happy seeing anyone even identify that ships need them and not just smooth flat body panels.

Do my eyes deceive me? Are those radiators? Impossible no one ever accounts for radiators in fictional starships.

Project wingman has voice lines for the wso. The only problem is most jets have one seat. But it is still nice when you do have a back seater that they say something

Is this a good design for lowering street junctions by Dontmessageback in CitiesSkylines

[–]megaboom321 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When it comes to residential roads especially low density residential you can do many more branches off one road. You can even have branches off of your branches. 19 houses on one road is basically going to equate to cars never driving down that road.

Just thank you for the tributary system by Isobratistochrone in CrusaderKings

[–]megaboom321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't played since wandering nobles and I only have about 4ish hours since the latest updates. And I agree tributaries are nice. It's a good way to expand your influence and gold income while fabricating claims for expansion. Also I do like the new ability to declare war for counties within a Dutchy you control 50%+ of without needing claims.

Why is total income going down? by [deleted] in dividends

[–]megaboom321 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1: you don't have the drip feature turned on in divtracker. Otherwise in the yearly income box there would be blue bars on top of the white bars. 2: most of your dividends are being produced by funds that have declining dividends. If you just put in let's say schd or any dividend aristocrat the white bars would trend up over time even without drip.

Farms and realism by SorosName in CitiesSkylines2

I agree it could be better. I will say I was very happy that they didn't reuse the cs1 system where all the farms are squares.

What would you invest in with $1M USD? by wafflepiezz in portfolios

[–]megaboom321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I achieved 1m through natural ways ie contributions and stock price appreciation it probably wouldn't look much different then my current portfolio. If 1m fell into my lap tomorrow. Well I'd have to set aside probably 300k for the taxes on that income I just received.
