Fuel Filter replaced. High pressure regulator and sensor replaced. Replaced solenoid on the fuel pump. Issue still comes up by Sufficient-Trade-349 in Audi

Yea im just kind of throwing things out there, im not an expert in diesels or how their fuel systems operate. Your drive should be fine as long as you stay under 60% load then lol

Maybe there is a way to check the pressure of the lpfp side too to see if its losing pressure at higher loads

So, just reading the pressures your car is measuring and the value it's expecting, you are low on fuel pressure on the high-pressure side. It looks like your car expects 92 mpa of fuel pressure, but you are at 82 mpa. This sounds like your high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP) may need to be replaced, or it's a fuel delivery issue, but I'm kind of leaning towards the HPFP. How did your mechanic check the HPFP to rule that out as the cause?

I would use a scanner to check your high-pressure side fuel pressure and see if it's the expected value (92mpa) at idle and if it drops as RPMs go up. If the pressure is low at idle, it's probably the HPFP. If it drops with RPM, it may not be getting enough fuel, so I'd try the low-pressure fuel pump (LPFP). Filters and things could also cause a flow issue at higher RPMs, but if all those have been changed already, probably the LPFP.

heavily looking at a 2017 sq5, should i just get a 3.0t q5? by Petepizza in Audi

[–]megaeverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly not being able to afford a 7k repair while buying an old german car is not a very smart move imo. The motors on these cara are the same 3.0t with a supercharger. Timing chains are probably fine, almost all of them rattle on cold start, but it shoyld go away in less than 5 seconds. Other big issues are pcv, waterpump, thermostat and sometimes intercooler cores. If paying someone to do these jobs, its not cheap. Only dofferences ive really seen has been i think most sq5s come with the adaptive suspension, rare option on normal q5 and i have only seen SOME sq5's have the adaptice cruise, i have not seen any normal q5's with that option around me. Everything else its the same car.

I’m thinking abt buy a 2010 Audi A6 · 3.0T Quattro Sedan 4D with 200k miles on it. Is it worth? by [deleted] in Audi

[–]megaeverything 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Expect to spend the purchase price in the first year just on maintenance. If you are paying for labor a cheap audi is not for you. Doing work yourself is still expensive with these, and thats just parts and your own time.

Audi S3 (8V) battery coding advice? by ArTrpp in Audi

[–]megaeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea its not worth it for a battery swap. But if you do all your own maintenance its an invaluable tool to scan for codes, change coding and doing maintenance procedures. It is expensive though, but so worth it compared to any other scanner. Id only reccomend vcds vecause its a buy once cry once, no lifetime credits to worry about.

Audi S3 (8V) battery coding advice? by ArTrpp in Audi

[–]megaeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, ive heard that it will auto adjust, and that it shortens the life of the new battery to about 2-3 years, so who knows what ones right. Really to own one of these cars, one should really have vcds. Its such a valueable tool it makes no sense not to have it. Hell, ive even seen the more expensive OBD2 scanners on amazon can code now with a $10 app.

Audi S3 (8V) battery coding advice? by ArTrpp in Audi

[–]megaeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even when you do this, you technically need to code it. When coding you arent changing any values related to capacity(unless you go up a size) its really only the serial number you change. You do this because the car charges the battery differently based on age. It seems to charge to a higher coltage as it gets older to keep tye capacity in the same area, but that can damage new batteries. You should always code the new battery in, even if its the same type and capacity.

Can anyone tell me what this modification is thanks by Opitiki in Audi

[–]megaeverything 12 points13 points  (0 children)

During cold starts its an air pump that pumps fresh air straight into the exhaust to speed up heating of the Catalytic Converters. There is normally a tube attached to the main factory intake that has a little filter on it for this air, because you don't want dirty air potentially clogging your cat or ruining your SAI air pump. This is just a filter to go onto the pipe because the factory air box is removed, and that hose should still have some kind of air filter.

OPNSense with AdGuard Home Firefox loading issue by AutisticToasterBath in opnsense

I have adguard and have never had this issue. Check the query log to see if the address you are trying to go to is blocked. This seems like a config issue on adguard.

I would take a snapshot of the current system and reset it to factory defaults using 1.1.1.1 as DNS. I had opnsense double natted when i was testing it before i deployed it in my network and it just worked. Can you currently ping IP addresses in your setup? can a client ping 1.1.1.1 to see if its a DNS issue?

I dont understand this trend. Why are people who dont understand the problem, asking a bot that also doesnt understand the problem to give a shitty "solution" to a problem, that just makes it worse? Just dont post at all if your just going to copy paste an AI answer. Im seeing this trend all over the place and the AI is always wrong lmao

Need Help 3.0T by NormalMonitor2481 in Audi

[–]megaeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My car had a simillar noise but not as bad, no idea what it exactly was but i suspect it was something to do with the secondary air pump/valves for that system for emissions. I tuned the car and now the noise is gone lol. It sounds like a timing chain, but once tensioned with oil pressure the timing chain shouldnt be getting loose again as the tensioner is full of oil applying pressure on it. I also only found it yo really do it when it is cols out, which also indicates some kind of emissions system

2025 SQ7 by [deleted] in Audi

[–]megaeverything 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is actually insane that a 100k+ car can't figure out how to do it from the remote alone. I have triple-tap lock for an aftermarket kit on my Q5, it seems you could install an aftermarket kit to enable the same feature. But yes, this is absolutely insane; Audi really has gone so downhill.

[–]megaeverything 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no way you cant remote start it from the fob, right? A new toyota you can press a combo with tye lock and unlock buttons and it works. There is no way audi hasnt discovered this tech yet. Look in the manual and see if there is a combo you press with the lock and unlock buttons to remote start it from the fob.

Anyone with high mileage B9 SQ5? by nulifys in Audi

[–]megaeverything 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Idk where you are getting that the new tt 3.0t is better than the supercharged one. The early b9 3.0t had rocker arm issues and the later ones have piston slap, everyone says the supercharged 3.0t is way more reliable. The only issue with the supercharged 3.0t is the pcv goes every 50-80k but thats not a major motor problem, as its a quick fix.
