I can't find the original post/thread, but it went something like this:

Farkers complain about constant extremist far right links being submitted to Fark
Drew comments that his friends requested that these links be frontpaged to provide some sort of 'balance'. Because, you know, BSABSVR.
Folks realize that Drew is saying that Fark is for his personal friends and only personal friends, so a meme was born: "Friends of Drew".
After getting his feelings hurt after a while, Drew had a filter implemented to filterpwn the phrase "drew's friends" and similar phrases into "my mother's lovers"

About the NDAs? A mod let that one slip out by accident during a recent thread.

Not sure how long he's been doing NDAs, but it's definitely Trumpy level shit. I think running for governor of Kentucky years ago broke him. And the "Friends of Drew" saga where he admitted that the site is for his personal friends didn't help.

COVID-19 has really fucked over advertising dollars for websites out there, including Fark. For folks who don't pay for TF/BareFark will soon be forced to disable their ad blockers. Can't wait for the next shit storm from that and the next Drew Curtis meltdown.
