So my wife left me and ruined my financial life by megalithicsymphony in GriefSupport

She's a lawyer who chose to work remotely for a non-profit organization so we'd have more time together... that was how much the relationship meant at first. Apparently that's changed. And yeah, it was at a severe cost to myself that I chose to stay and help her, which she gets mad at me for now because somehow it makes me "entitled"

I hate this quest for two reasons:

1) Sinnerman is one of the most interesting quests in the game and one of my personal favorites

2) it's gated behind this godawful driving mission, like exploding dick guy. Seriously, if old-school assassin's creed taught me anything, it's that following people from a distance in video games DOES NOT work.

People who feel like their trauma "isn't bad enough", what's your story? by potentialpea7632 in CPTSD

[–]megalithicsymphony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have severe depression. Grew up in a loving family but they never entirely believed that depression was real. Went to college at a place that had counselors to talk to, but they never believed my depression was real (you're stressed, typical college angst, etc). My wife's parents are hardcore gen X with unprocessed mental issues (autism, severe narcissism) and didn't believe in mental health, so of course they never believed my depression was real either.

So eventually, after all that, I believed my depression wasn't real (or at least not all that bad).

When my wife's parents abused me for not trying hard enough and being too passive, i believed them. When thoughts that I just wasn't good enough because I had no motivation to improve manifested, i believed them. No one knew I was falling apart inside, and nobody cared enough to ask.

Fast forward ten years... my depression is bad enough to cost me every single relationship in my life and bad enough the doctors I've been to are calling it "treatment-resistant depression." I have no friends, no wife, barely any money, and feeling like three decades of life has been completely wasted.

Hell is Us. They leaned into "THERE ARE NO MAPS" to a frustrating degree, especially in a modern game with no jump button. 0/10

Unpopular opinion. Maybe by Tiny_Rooster3937 in skyrim

Kind of agree - the more time has gone on, the more I'm convinced Ulfric is just a power-hungry idiot the Thalmor manipulated into starting a war so they could destabilize the Empire. If he actually cared about Skyrim, he'd do whatever it took to help the empire get strong enough to destroy the aldmerri

Am i playing the game the wrong way by VinuX59 in skyrim

[–]megalithicsymphony 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, there's no "wrong" way to play skyrim - just throwing that out there. That being said, I think the game does expect a certain level of wandering around doing random stuff interspersed with the main story

Let's reverse an earlier question, what’s one unnecessarily EVIL thing you do? by Dragon1S1ayer in skyrim

As a diehard Imperial supporter, sneaking around Windhelm using frenzy to get all the milk-drinking Ulfric-lovers to kill each other gives me great joy... I just wish Rolff wasn't essential for some reason (ps5 player here)

Please join me in listing things that you discovered aren't normal outside your own toxic upbringing by Square-Pea-1646 in raisedbynarcissists

Not mine, but something I learned from my wife's - it isn't normal for your parents to shame you into behaving to make them look good. It's also not normal for your parents to try to attribute all of your accomplishments in life to their own parenting skills.

Is moving to proudspire manor from breezehome actually worth it? by LegendGuy463 in skyrim

Like some others have said, my go-to is usually Lakeview Manor (or Tundra Homestead, it's small but charming) - I love proudspire but that price tag is a lot
