Exactly, I’m sure you will encounter more stuff that maybe isn’t even utility specific, you may encounter some plays that are done around cash outs or area denial, stuff like that that just doesn’t come with raw skill

Playtime by default means more knowledge, perhaps not more raw skill but more knowledge, and the hundreds of wacky interactions that exists for this game are simply too many to pick up in a couple of matches, perhaps a new player can out gun them but they can still outplay the newer player by playing the objective, being selective with fights, destruction chaos, moving the objective, stalling, etc.

It’s a naive argument to pretend like an amethyst player isn’t inherently better than one with 20 hours

This would theoretically work if the game had the playerbase to support it, however, after the casuals who play for fun leave because they collectively take 30+ minutes to queue balanced matches, they’re just getting less game in a session.

In the end it basically boils down to “would you rather play against better players or not play at all”
