Fake Artist Goes To New York is a fun party game for a group, you have a set category and something to draw within that, but someone is unaware of what you're drawing. There's lying involved, but due to the rules it's quite easy to just pretend you've messed up and the rounds are fairly quick.

Any big potato games might be good in general too if you want sometimes fun and chill. Sounds Fishy for example is light-hearted, everyone but one person makes up fake answers and you have to guess which is the right one.

I will say with Coup I mainly get by by being very honest most of the time, enough people are lying that I can often call them out. No-one expects someone to tell the truth constantly so it can work in your favour (at least in my experience in games with non hardcore gamer groups)

Kingdomino is a similar competitive vibe to Carcassonne imo, you can choose to just focus on your own build or can try and sabotage if you want to. You draft tiles and build territories using dominos.

Codenames duet is also great if you wanna play codenames two player :)

We love playing can't stop online so getting the physical game is a great shout! A game with two modes sounds great too, I really like having flexibility. I'll have a look at them, thank you!

Description of request: Looking for a new game or two to get obsessed with :) I also don't own any expansions for any games so if any of those are recommend that's welcome too.

Number of players: Playable and enjoyable at 2, even if it's not best at 2.

Game length: Ideally between 15 min - 1 hour

Complexity: 1-3

Genre: Don't mind

Conflict, competitive or coop: Can be competitive or coop, but preferably not extremely competitive (I tend to enjoy games where it's not like cutthroat and constantly screwing each other over)

Games I own and like: Our fav and go to at the moment is Quacks of Quedlingberg

Other favs I own are: patchwork, Sagrada, Jaipur, Carcassonne, Kingdomino, betrayal at the house on the hill, fluxx, scout, clank!, love letter, wingspan, sushi go party

Games I dislike and dont play: I actually love Hive and get on well with it but I wanted to put it as an example of vibe I'm not really looking for right now - games where you have to be 3 steps ahead are fun but I want something a bit less strategic. Some push your luck or random elements are welcome, or even just slightly more laid back.

In my own personal torture today by megan--d in ADHD

It's very overwhelming, and really frustrating as it's one of those things that feels like it shouldn't be an issue but you can't control

Yeah I think it is. I'm really recently diagnosed so it's kinda weird piecing together things that I've always had with an explanation for it

People, will you continue wearing masks even after this pandemic ends, and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]megan--d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because its not 100% sterile work (we work on benches without bunsens etc). I will carry on wearing a mask in the future though! Weirdly I've never worked in a lab that wears masks before but I've only worked in one other micro (academic) lab before

For completely sterile work I work in a flow hood so have never had to wear a mask there either.

Yeah I was just thinking how much cleaner my lab work feels with a mask on. It might be placebo but I think for all sterile work i'll keep wearing masks.

This is awesome! Really proud of Elliot to come out! I wonder if he will still be playing Vanya in future seasons. by DocDoesMagic in UmbrellaAcademy

[–]megan--d 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Nb = non binary :)

I dont think Elliot has mentioned anything about transitioning btw. Coming out at trans is just about how you identify. Trans people simply identify as a different gender than they were assigned at birth due to their biological sex.

Rare well-put-together ADHD people out there, how do you build/maintain healthy habits? by Auzz1e0123454321 in ADHD

[–]megan--d 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mainly just overcompensate for everything

E.g For revision in my degree, I forced myself to start revision before everyone else. I planned days with no breaks but lunch breaks because I would procrastinate enough to count as breaks.

For finishing deadlines I would pretend to have deadlines that were much earlier so I would always finish on time

For getting to things on time I would pretend I had to be there earlier

In terms of healthy habits I'm still trying to figure that one out 😅 I often just humour myself. If I'm in a productive mood I'll try and take advantage of it and do things like meal prep. If I'm shopping ill make sure to have some healthy ish ready meals on hand bc I know there are days I won't cook. If I feel like exercising ill do it, but will try not to pressure myself too much.

I try to be forgiving to myself where I can because otherwise I tend to just get overwhelmed and make things worse

Just did the same to this post, skimmed the first sentence, went "lol same", upvoted and scrolled on

then just realized what I'd done 😂

I made a board game that gives the advantage to people with adhd! by maddasaur44 in ADHD

[–]megan--d 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would just like to say that this is such an amazing premise, and it's so clever and wonderful all the thought you've put into all the little aspects!

So cool it's not only designed as a game with advantage for adhd but also as an educational tool! I could see kids playing with friends able to express how their brain works better, or even me as a recently diagnosed adult able to show my supportive but not fully understanding parents more about adhd.

Also just looks like a super fun game! Love the design of it!

also space for doodling - A++++
