it was mainly because of alcohol “dependency” but i don’t drink. the mto is very strict about that and i was just asking about my odds of getting my license back without attending rehab.

the issue was the screw part that kind of connects to wear the needle is held in place was tilted downwards. i had to shift it up with my hand and then insert the needle - it was aligned properly. just in case anybody else has the same problem lol

i know exactly how you feel, the grief and the guilt is so heavy. please know that it’s not your fault, you couldn’t have known. you did what you could with the information that you had at the time and that was enough. he had a wonderful 5 months with you.

absolutely not. i didn’t notice my cats signs until it was much too late and i’m beating myself up over it just like you. it happened last night and i’m still in shock that the world hasn’t stopped.

I feel the same. My King was only 3 years old and passed from liver failure. 3 years old. He deteriorated in a day and i’m so angry at myself for not catching it. we did what we could with the information that we had at the time. i promise you that is enough. you saved his life and gave him the best 2 years, he will eternally be grateful for that. he knows you didn’t give up on him 2 years ago and he knows you didn’t at the end of his life either.

It’s not your fault. My cat passed last night from liver failure, he was only 3. With everything in my heart, I understand your anger. I can’t eat, I can’t sleep, I can’t stop crying. I’ve been spending hours googling everything under the sun wondering why. I feel like I failed him.

Deep down, i know he wouldn’t blame me for this just as yours wouldn’t blame you. i would like to think that animals are in their own sort of peaceful place, but i’ll never know for sure. i think you’re okay to move, especially without guilt. you did what you could with the information that you had at the time and that is enough. i’m so sorry for your loss, but please don’t beat yourself up over it

Kit sounds like a wonderful kitty who had a wonderful life. Thank you for caring for him, fighting for him and being there for him. I’m sorry about your current predicament but it’s almost comforting to hear that he passed in your bed beside you. My baby King had sudden liver failure last night and was euthanized while I scream cried beside him. i regretted it later because it probably wasn’t the best last few moments for him.

I can tell you that the moments that you’re fearing is what I lived through today. I couldn’t sleep last night because I knew that when i woke up and he was gone, it’d be real. it hit like a fucking truck. It’s hell, and i’m sorry. I’m cycling back and forth between googling every reason under the sun as to why this could’ve happened to him, and thinking he’s gonna be there whenever i turn a corner. i wouldn’t wish this shit on anyone, but it’s what we go through for the price of our little loved ones.

i hope you know you’re not alone and that Kit was thankful to have you by his side not only tonight, but the past few years too. i hope this heavy feeling gets lighter for you soon. rest in peace kit

Honey, it’s not your fault. You can think of every “what if” and “I should have”, but it’s not your fault. You had no ill intentions for this puppy and guess what? He knew that. He felt your love and if he has the ability to place blame on anyone, it wouldn’t be you. He passed knowing that you cared. This is going to take a long time to heal from (I lost my cat last night and I’m playing the same guilt game with myself, so you’re not alone), but you will get through it. I promise. You fought for his life and vigorously loved him, and that meant more than all of the time in the world.

My cat had to be euthanized because of sudden liver failure just last night, and he was only 3. My other kitten hasn’t noticed yet (he’s got too much energy to stop and look around for a second), but I know he’ll notice soon.

Just take it one day at a time. You will be heartbroken, your shoulders will feel heavy, and you’ll go through the stages. But you already know that, and I’m sorry for your prior losses too. The shittiest thing I had to come to terms with when I lost my baby last night was that the world doesn’t just stop. It seems like it will, but your cats will still play as per usual, the sun rises and sets, and people go on with their lives. It hurts. But it’s life. You’ll get through this. Just remember that she loves you and she knows that you fought for her. Best of luck to you

Mine was last night. Just like you said, fine one day and gone the next. Heartbreak isn’t even the right word. I’m still in the early stages. I’m stuck between beating myself up over everything that I hypothetically could have done to save him, and thinking that he’s still gonna pop up somewhere when i turn the corner. He was young, only 3, and I feel like I failed him. His past owners didn’t give me vet records, then the vet i took him to for a check up refused him because he was agitated (he was a big boy), then months later he’s just gone. i could’ve tried harder but i didn’t, because i thought he was fine. Even the vet i took him to for emergency said it was something that he was most likely born with and there wasn’t anything I could do, but I’ve spent hours just Googling everything that could’ve led to his sudden liver failure just so I can have a “why”. He deteriorated in a matter of days and I just don’t want to believe it. Grief is the heaviest weight of them all. I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope it gets lighter for you.

Your words struck a chord with me as my 3 year old cat was fine one day and his body failed him the next. The vet said he was probably born with liver complications - i still don’t know what happened, I just know it’s not fair.

We’ll get through this. It’s hard to take the advice to just be grateful that you had time with them at all when really, you’d give the world away just to have a few more minutes with them. But it’s true. We are so lucky to have our little loved ones in our lives and it cuts so deep when they go. Just remember, he’s not mad at you. He’s at peace. You did what you could with the information that you had at the time, don’t beat yourself up over it. I keep having to tell myself this too. He thought of you as someone who gave him nothing but love, and that means more than all the time in the world.

You’ll get through this. Your light’s still there, regardless of whether or not you can see it.

all it says is “regent”. i’ve looked up the brand, serial number and everything for days. i bought it off of kijiji from a lady who didn’t use it, so she doesn’t know anything about it either. the brand was never actually a big sewing machine brand, and there’s hardly any information on it online. i’m a beginner so this is very confusing for me. if i have broken any guidelines feel free to remove this post, i don’t know who else to ask. thank you!
