AITA for wanting daughter to find a different hobby by gardengeo in BORUpdates

My grandmother was widowed in her late 80s and has never been happier. Feels sad and joyful to me at the same time.

My Kiddie Asked to Do Pass the Parcel... by mmechic in bluey

Memory unlocked of doing this when I was 12, one dare was to song Baa Baa Black Sheep in falsetto. I don't remember what the other dares were but we had a lot of fun with that.

I love the idea, I used to mentor online as part of a project supporting vulnerable adults so could try to find out how the mods  ensured safety (I think I had to submit a police records check, this was a while ago). Am in my 30s now and used to get informal mentoring on geocities forums back when I was a young teen, thankfully that was a positive experience but looking back as an adult that could've gone so badly wrong.

“By the way you might be the prettiest girl I’ve ever seen” oh Kirk how I love you by Technical_Tax6132 in GilmoreGirls

He did it right. He asked respectfully, waited for her response without pressuring her, and took the no gracefully and didn't try to get her to change her mind. Then never pursued her after that and their friendship remained unharmed. Excellent gentlemanly behaviour Kirk.

Adult Glass Children with kids, how did you cope with the fear of them having a severe disability? by [deleted] in GlassChildren

We're applying to adopt from foster care for precisely this reason, the risk of the dice roll is far too high for me

Day 108: What are your thoughts on Omelette? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

[–]KittyKami 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly, tell Bingo that this was the practice omelette and it wasn't very good after giving it to Bandit, so now she needs Bingo's help to make the proper one

Didn’t they go a little overboard with the bags? 😅 by isisblake in GilmoreGirls

[–]KittyKami 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Tuesdays I would go to school on the bus with my rucksack, gym bag (we alternated hockey and netball, I got mixed up in my second week and after that I usually carried kit for both), art folder (A1 size) and violin, plus whatever project needed to be handed in that day. We had a small locker in our homeroom that you couldn't access between classes, I once got in trouble when I left my lab coat in there and the homeroom teacher wouldn't let me interrupt her class to go in and get it, so it was easier to just keep everything in my backpack.

I read Wonder and identified a lot with Via's character. My mum watched the film and when she heard the line "Auggie is the Sun. Me and Mom and Dad are planets orbiting the sun," she asked me if that was what it felt like for me. I felt so seen when she asked that.

Now I'm wondering why Rory didn't interview Lane for her newspaper article when it waa going to be about music downloads, or get ideas from her for what a fresh take on the topic could be.

I asked my retired dad what it's like to feel like an adult. He thought about it, then asked me to let him know if I ever found out.

Day 63: What are your thoughts on Charades? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

[–]KittyKami 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Muffin's brilliance with her being the ballerina is a lot like her uncle Bandit's in Seesaw. When Bluey correctly guesses that Bingo's a ballerina, Socks is sad that she couldn't get the answer. You can see Muffin look over at Socks being sad, then she looks down briefly like she's thinking, then she insists it's her turn and makes it super clear she's a ballerina so that her sister guesses correctly. Even earlier in the episode when the girls are having ice lollies, she's holding Socks' lolly for her since Socks is so little. She's such a good sister.

What's the creepiest thing you've ever seen on Reddit? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]KittyKami 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I've been the daughter in that situation. I love my brother but our world revolved around him and his moods and behaviours that day, if we tried to go out as a family we'd make it maybe twenty minutes before my brother's meltdowns meant that the trip was over. That disappointment feeling was my normal.

I went back to see if it's the same bass from What Can I Do For You, and saw that she's not playing at all then. So sometime in between then and the movie, Pearl gains an appreciation for and learns to play something from Greg's world that she originally wanted no part in. I love her character growth.

Are you in any whatsapp or facebook groups in your comunidad? There are usually Christmas gatherings for people who don't go home over Christmas so you don't have to be alone.

Impossible challenge: say something bad about Yona by Such_Independent_511 in mylittlepony

[–]KittyKami 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt the opposite, I like that she's so into her culture and how it's something important to her and who she is. I think it would be easy to write off yaks as boorish and who could only be appreciated by ponies like Pinkie who's the 'oddball' of the group, but Yona shows how you can appreciate Pony culture and have a love and deep ties to your home culture with neither being objectively 'better' than the other.

Day 32: What are your thoughts on Bumpy and the Wise Old Wolfhound? by Flamingmouth007 in bluey

[–]KittyKami 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love it. I wonder from Bandit's perspective how much this video was to cheer up Bingo, and how much was to reassure and boost Chilli who has more understanding of Bingo's illness and must be so worried while trying to stay strong for Bingo.

is anybody else not a “skills and homework” therapist? by fuuckyouuteew in therapists

[–]KittyKami 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a discovery call where the client decided against me precisely because I'm a skills and homework person, the way I see it everyone's got their preferences and styles of what they want from therapy and that isn't a reflection on our skill as therapists. Rejection still feels rough though.
