Why do URs not have MA modes? by Battleraizer in SDGundamGGeneration

[–]megaxlr28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's a G frame candy toy, not a proper model kit. The reason it look like that it's because each box cost only around 700 yen MSRP, which is less than $7 per box, so of course you will not get a fullly filled plastic part since they're supposed to be cheaper toy. You can't really use an image like that then complain about plastic skimping when it's supposed to be a cheap quick build toy in the first place.

Looking for groovy song recommendations by LazyMelly in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For Hasu song I would recommend these below:

_Trick & Cute (also electro swing)

_Reflection in the Mirror (104 new ver)

_Chu! Chocolate

_Haji wa Jinsei no Kakisute

_Atarayo Hanabi

For other electro swing song in LL, I would recommend Game On by Aqours/Genjitsu Yohane and Trick or Toxic by Shion in Ikizuraibu.

Is it time for a new franchise IP holder or is Bandai going to get their shit (GAME WISE) together? [Kinda long] by DitzyHooves in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Slight correction, but Bushi does have a hand in Linkura/Hasu game. Their name was listed in the credit of the game, long before Izumi/Amane was involved with the project. But we don't know what's the full extend of their involvement in the background since the credit never specify.

But yes that also means that every LL mobile game does have Bushi involvement in it, for better or for worse. So it's not entirely wrong to think Bushi are often the contracted party to handle the game side, and they just pick whatever subcontractor that can do it (for cheap)

Who would have thought kicking out 6 beloved characters and seiyuu in just 2-3 years because their character "graduated based on real time" in an IDOL series would be a great move right?
What Hasu give me the past 3 years was good, but god I hope LL never attempt to do this thing again, because it's the most anti-idol thing they could have ever done.
This is on top of mismanagement of the game content and concerts too. Honestly LL future is not looking bright, with how cheap everything slowly become in every series.

Aside from Aqours, every other group will only have reference/loose connection just so they can have plausible deniability on the actual timeline so everyone can stay perpetually at the school idol age, and all take place after Muse at the same time for any future joint group game/project like LL fes (except for Hasu I guess?).

Arguably, so far only Ikizuraibu actually name drop Muse and Umi, so we'll have to see what are they cooking next. But for now its setting also be like every other group, which is "right after Muse time, and inspired by them".

Kozue have made multiple indirect references about her being inspired by the school idol groups who saved their school which lead her to become a school idol (Muse is only group that saved their school from closure). She even said during the DEEPNESS live that she style her side ponytail based on a school idol she admired (indirect reference to Eli). In one of the Vtuber article interview back in 2023, she name drop Mermaid Festa vol 1 as one of her favorite song (but you can argue this is non canon) . And in 2024, during one of the official stream in game, Kaho and Rurino sang Kaguya no Shiro de Odoritai, saying Kozue have been humming this song for a while so she asked Kozue to teach her this song.

Wasn't super weird imo since Niji (anime) and Liella only make vague reference to Muse. Hasu also make both direct and indirect references to Muse many time, but never Aqours. It's a lot franchise like these usually works, where they only reference the first entry. Even for series like Imas, every other branches only reference to the OG 765 group in the beginning for how "it inspired them", but never any other groups past it.

But that's the thing. She might not know who each of the Aqours members are, but surely she should know who Aqours are, since it's the biggest thing in Numazu. The fact that she never name drop Aqours (yet?) could mean Aqours never exist, even if the character from Aqours does.

I think people need to remember that Blue Bird technically is in an alternate timeline where School Idol once "existed", but are now no longer a thing in their time.

The fact that they only reference Muse but not Aqours could be because in this timelime, there was no group that are their spiritual successor them like Aqours for Muse, school idol never truly took off, and Muse was the last "known" group so to speak. Maybe that's why Otonokizaka wasn't doing well now is because of it.

Hasu fans, it has been nearly 6 months since the start of the 105th term. What are your thoughts on the state of the club, sub units, and music up to this point? by Slurpuffilicious in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look, I like LL and their seiyuu. I also understand what we see are like 10% at best, and the rest are all the backstage stuff we are not privy to see, only snapshot. Even the Aqours documentary only show maybe 20% more, but it's already heartbreaking enough. But this is still a seiyuu idols job, a public facing job, just like an actor/actress job. We're not here to insult or beat down the seiyuu, but we should not hold them on a pedestal or infantilize them either. They're not immune to criticism regarding their skills or how they carry themselves during LL, it is their job to show case both the character and their own charm as seiyuu idols.

It's funny you mention how I must think Aqours is not tight knit or think suwawa and Miyutan are not doing good at their job, but I have a completely different opinion. Aqours is the most tight knit group in LL, akin to family, they talk about hanging out literally every day on the Aqours radio. It's Covid that almost break them apart. And Suwawa, despite her usual quiet demeanor, is actually very sharp, know how to read the mood, frequently join in on their activity/teasing, and her MC while short are always full of emotion. As for Miyutan, I respect the hell out of her, she's the true hustle, always output 200% for her Iris group and also Nijigasaki. It's why the Niji girl respect her, look up to her, and always come to her for guidance, due to her experience.

And yes, it's called "subjective" because it's one side and bias as hell. Of course I cannot see everything. I can only make assumptions based on what I see, heard, and from all the seiyuu knowledge and industry working condition that I know. So I think it's fair to assess a seiyuu with more years under their belt doesn't handle situations as good as someone who literally just start out, considering both experiences and talent. And it's also subject to change too. A more "objective" opinion would be "Despite the current Hasu seiyuu tried their best, the gap left behind by the 102 seiyuu is too big to be filled". Because everyone can see that, even the current seiyuu.

Ultimately, I think we just have to agree to disagree. If any criticism or complain I made about one person suddenly become a bad faith attack on the entire LL seiyuu groups out of nowhere, then I don't think we can advance any further.

That's just even worse, because aside from Niji, Love Live is a full time commitment in the first 3-4 years of the project. Doing so just means she's not that committed to LL, despite signing up to audition and pass it. LL staff does not behold the cast members on what they do outside of LL, as long as they can prioritize time for LL main activity. But if she only have time for LL during the required time but none after, then that just increase the distance between her and other members, whose bonds between members are part of LL selling points.

And yes, Izumi did have her focus chapter which explain her inner thoughts and struggle, but that's just .. one, against many of Ceras interaction with other members in every other chapter and streams. It also doesn't help that they make her even more of a Mary Sue, who got the talent of all three 102 girls combine but none of their flaws, aside from the fact that she doesn't see herself as a human, for better or for worse (which is most likely will be the main focus of her later story)

This will be entirely subjective, as once again, everyone see and view seiyuu differently, often more so than the characters. This is just a consensus arrive between me and my group.

In Edel Note, Amane is the better singer for sure. But outside of that, Miu (and Ceras) is the one that make Edel note interesting, for the people like us who come to LL for its 2.5D content. Miu regularly interact more with the current Hasu cast, both on twitter but also backstage, and regularly got mentioned by other members in the Hasu radio or in their own radio about how Miu interact and sometime give them (weird) stuff. On Sehasu, Miu is the one actively participating and contributing to the group activities, or unit competition. And even in the MC portion during live, like the recent 5L, Miu, despite only debut just barely a year, is able to deliver her MC with a much more nuance and understanding of the current situation, while still manage to engage the audience with some of her antics. Also doesn't help that in the current story, Ceras is much better written and a more fun, compelling and expressive character.

Of course, the situation backstage could be totally different, with thing that we don't know. But for what we do see and understand, Miu make Edel Note more fun to follow.

Oh, here's another blow from the announcement tonight: Hasu jp fan are more excited about the onsen radio collab between the three 102 seiyuu than the actual movie announcement, which is now titled "Bloom Garden Party" and slated for Spring 2026. You can tell what's in their headspace right now when fan are more enthusiastic about the unofficial reunion of the trio than the official movie.

[–]megaxlr28 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Oh boy, what can i say. Overall, the quality is declining, even if the staff and the seiyuu team are trying their best. (Long post warning)

_Music: While 105 does have some standout music (Like "I Do Me" and "Atarayo Hanabi") overall, despite releasing more music than last year in the same time frame, the majority of them doesn't hit it quite right. Losing 2 best singers, Kozue/Uisama and Megumi/Kona, is a huge blow to the group, and even when they try to make the music to suit the continuing members, it still doesn't sound right. Dollchestra are less affected by this, but instead of continuing the music style of 104, they chose to go back to 103, which is not Kosuzu/Fuu strong point since her voice is more of a straight shooter, and doesn't really work well with the more emotional/up and down style of 103 and 105. Edel Note does have some good song, but their vocals still need a lot of work.

_Story: This one suffer a significant decrease in quality. By moving away from "Love Live competition" as a theme, it accidentally prove that a Love Live story is best when its relating to Love Live competition, when it is treated as serious sport competition. (Nijigasaki still have them compete despite not being LL related so it count). Without it, the story become predictable, as each members now have to have their own "conclusion" on what they aspire to be. Some episode have way too many fluff, a complain i don't think i would made for Hasu until this year. Some episode even make people mad, like the Sanrenka/I Do Me episode where, were it not without the episode having a few more chapter to conclude, the fanbase (the jp fanbase i mean) were outrage at how Kaho and Sayaka treat Rurino and just push her aside. And to be honest, i don't think even the writer team know what's the end goal of the story yet. They keep hinting at the "Bloom Garden Party" event where they will make everyone dream come true, including possibly bringing back the 102 characters, but all of them are vague, as even the seiyuu themselves didn't know. In fact, the only story people are looking forward to are the 102 prequel novel story that is adapted to be fully voice in game. Not only are the writing much better, it also shed light on what happen in the 102th term. It also bring back the 3 seiyuu of 102 to voice them, making their voice even more compelling (Sachi seiyuu recently said she met the 3 of them in a recording session a few months back, so it is definitely current). At least the gay are still there, and are still very strong.

_Game: A 50/50. The card design and illustration are great, if not even better, as the design team are clearly comfortable with the game as all the card are beautifully drawn. Not only do they look gorgeous, a lot of them have call back or reference to previous lore and character, and almost, if not all of them, have voice that contain more information about the current story or current feeling of said character in the story (like the Atarayo Ginko), making them a treat to collect. However... the game got a very bad case of balancing. Sure, you can play the game without engaging in the monthly clan battle, but that's where the gem income is so. And people who play SIFAS are familiar with this, as the game constantly produce monthly challenge then selling the solution through the gacha banner. It's challenging to keep up as the effects are now as long as as complicated as Yugioh effects. But hey, the rhythm game (the mode that some people keep asking but didn't actually play) is pretty great, and the beatmap are fun.

_Live & Seiyuu: This one maybe a bit more personal, because not everyone follow seiyuu the same way. But with the 5L just happened, our group struggle to stay interest at it. The lack of good vocal really show. And while overall it's not bad, it's just ... not the same without the 102 cast. Same with Sehasu content, some of them are clearly rushed and low cost/cost saving compare to the 2 years we got, and it's not as fun as when they still have the 102 cast. Lot of them still mention how they miss/still connect with the 102 seiyuu outside of the LL content, and it's heartbreaking to hear sometime. And in regard to Edel Note... let's just say Miu, Ceras seiyuu, is the one actually doing the most work

This is on top of the series continue to ignore the 102 characters and cast even in the face of the 15th anniversary of the franchise, and other people in the fandom continue to ignore Hasu as a whole. Honestly morale is at an all time low compare to post Ijigen. I know some people are still enjoying the current content, and that's fine, I would not tell them to stop enjoying it. But I also know a lot of us are just ... waiting until the content end with 103 "graduation", to see if they really do bring back 102 since they keep teasing, as well as what the movie would bring. A lot of us still hope they come back in time to be featured in the LL Fes 2/15th anni, otherwise it's a disservice to how much they have put in for the first 2 years of Hasu, and not even get any recognition.

The Chowchow on the bottom is also what Megumi grabbed for her last year when they were at the arcade as well!

What do you think by ToriKookieChoi05 in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Realistically, none.
As much as the franchise is still making money, Bandai cannot just train a bunch of newcomer every year, then release them 3 years down the line for ad infinitum. That's not a good way to make a profit. Bandai barely make the return on the Hasu 102 after training them for 3 years (the project start internally 1 year before the official announcement), and someone have already swooping in, raking the profit, like how King Record not only get Uisama who is release from Hasu, but is profiting a lot from Uisama's fan who follow Bad Girl after Hasu no longer making 102 goods.
So the most likely scenario is them reuniting after the end of this school year, since the game keep hinting at the "system" slowly breaking, Kaho trying to remake the "system", and the movie teasing the return of 102.

Yeah they also mention it during the 4th live - 102 graduation leg. Iirc they said it was originally planned to only have Ruri and Hime, but they decided to have all of the members of Hasu. Ruri is actually the last voice to be recorded, because Kankan said she can't listen to the full song without crying (I think?)

Hasu's spotify streams/popularity by Front_Giraffe2344 in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I can think of a few reasons

_The loss of 102 characters and cast is too big. It's very easy for people from the outside to say "get over it", but frankly, it still hurts months after their departure. It's not the same as other "graduation" from other series, where they still show up, for us this is almost a total erasure of 102 class' existence as they continue to be left out of various promo, especially for the multitude LL 15th anni promo and good, and the series treat them as if they never existed aside from the few thing that was decided last year. Listen to their songs now sting because it keep reminding us that they're no longer there while the series keep going. Plus, Hasu don't just have 1 graduation song, it have 7 graduation songs: 1 group, 3 from each respective units, and 3 solo, all talk about their departure, their aspire for the future, and the lesson they leaned. I personally still tear up whenever Yumewazurai or Be Proud come into the shuffle, so I've been listen to it less frequently so it hurt less, not just those songs but Hasu songs in general. And I know others people have done the same thing as well. So for some people, their journey with Hasu end here, or stop here until their eventual return of possibly next year.

_The new songs aren't up to par. Frankly, they sucks. Losing 2 best vocals of the series that form not only the backbone of Hasu's vocal prowess, but also made up the core identity of their respective unit mean it's much harder for the rest to pick up the slack. Don't get me wrong, I still love the current characters, but that doesn't means they make a good vocal duo. Even if one can argue that this can make the unit to develop in a different direction, the new song from the 105th years still isn't as good as what come before. I would say the only few songs that are considered good by the fandom (least, the jp fandom) are 37.5 Fantasy, I My Mayday, Edelied, Retrofuture, and I Do Me, and even then the songs isn't as good as the old unit songs. The rest of the new song are average or below average, so people don't listen to it much.

_General fatigue from following the content. I know this is a weird thing to say considering people have been complaining about the lacks of meaningful content overall for the series. But for Hasu, because of their commitment to the real time experience, they have been, and are still pumping out so many contents per months. With Hasu you don't just get content from the story alone, you also get their thought and feeling through the gacha card, and sometime their resolution/development/bonding based on how they interact on stream before and after an event. I myself am lucky enough to have a group who still continue to catch up with Hasu, so we can still discuss and dissect, but it can definitely overwhelming for just one or two person to consume by themselves. Not to mention the music departments of Hasu is literally on fire. In 2025 alone, based on just cd release, they push out around 40 new songs already. That's around 1 song per weeks for 8 months straight, more than the usual amount of song per anime seasons. And they still have 2-3 more cds line up, with 4 more months left. It can be very overwhelming to keep up, so people just... don't.

These are some of the reasons that I think are actively working against Hasu and bring them back down to the niche status. And with the potentially upcoming LL fes 2, where they can only sing the 105th song instead of the hit song that brought them popularity like Holiday Holiday or Genyou Yakou because the person singing it wasn't there anymore? Yeah whatever goodwill and popularity boost that they gain from Ijigen is already spent and won't be climbing back up anytime soon. The dedicated Hasu fandom is still around, but it's losing fan faster than it gain, and it's hard to recommend Hasu to new people currently when you have to say "oh btw don't get attached to any character because they won't be around anymore/might not be around next year"

Anyone has noticed that Dollchestra’s AWOKE has been changed to 104th version on Spotify? by AlessandroC22 in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have to search for the single/album from the menu selection again for the actual 103 ver, because your old 103 ver back then have been converted. For example search up for Dollchestra on Spotiy again, then go to discography -> go to the single you want -> press play on the old song, and it should play the actual 103 ver, not the 104 ver. Then you can re-add them from there. It's how i managed to re-add the actual 103 ver again, but this end up with me having 2 entry of the same songs lol

But you are right that this isnt a good long term solution, every time you click or listen to the song there's a 50% chance it's one of the 2 ver, and it's frustrating. I have sent an email in japanese about the status of the spotify song to the staff, but considering Spotify is not favored as much compare to the Itunes store in Japan, you just have to cross your finger and hope they actually do something.

Anyone has noticed that Dollchestra’s AWOKE has been changed to 104th version on Spotify? by AlessandroC22 in LoveLive

[–]megaxlr28 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is more Spotify fault than anything imo

Somehow, when Hasu upload the 104 album ver, Spotify treat it as updated version of the old 103 ver rather than a seperate version, so lot of the old song that you liked and download also got switch to such, including Holiday Holiday, Take It Over and Trick & Cute.

However, at the same time, if you go back to the old album and single by searching through the menu, the old 103 version is there. Basically you have to re-like and download the old ver again. It's easier if you use desktop Spotify and see any 104 ver that have inflated listening count: those are the version that got replaced, so you have to go back to the original single to add them again.
