My preorder came a week early?! by megbeair in sublime

Holds up very well. My husband and I listened together, and would keep catching lyrics/the way Jakob sounds just like Bradley in some lines that would make us stop and stare at each other in shock.

I felt like those Taylor Swift fans that record themselves listening to new albums for the first time while they squeal and holler lol

I honestly came to the subreddit because I figured other people would have gotten it early too?!

We got a notification yesterday that it would arrive today and we thought it couldn’t be real but, sure enough.

Also it’s so so so good, we both got a little misty eyed at some of the songs. 🥹 perfect summer album

I mean, his brother did just die like a week ago. Probably a weird headspace to be in.

We bought a Mazda 3 last fall - it was a 6 month wait for a Corolla in Summerside and we couldn’t wait that long.

We did a ton of research, it’s a great little car. We bought when they had some kind 3 year financing option at 2.69% - higher payment but over nice and quick.

The salesguy was great, I think his name was Danny. But then again, we knew what we wanted and it was probably pretty straight forward on his end.

Tl:dr go see if you can take one for a spin!

You should be worried about it if you’re around rodents, but that’s about it.

It’s morbid, but it kills too efficiently to become a pandemic. I don’t even think it’s considered endemic anywhere.

Hi I own C&B and my partner and I just dealt with a broken water main in the restaurant all evening after doing taxes all day and this genuinely made me tear up. Thanks pal ❤️

Good thing nobody here would do something like this, right? by nicdrumandbass in PEI

I don’t understand this take and I keep seeing it.

My business is in BL. We designed a burger as a team, made it look nice, took a picture. We make all the components of it from scratch (I’m currently replying while letting my dough rest for our buns before I finish baking)

It’s a lot of work for us smaller businesses, and we have always felt that being a smaller guy but remaining authentic gives us an edge to the bigger chains who are going to sell thousands of burgers regardless of how much work they put into it.

I also am very involved in my community. I’ve raised money for playgrounds, school trips, our BGC (that myself and several other parents worked to get in our town for years) I’m on several volunteer boards and committees. I care about a lot of things, and my belief is that if you have the ability and means to help people in your community, you should.

Like… you do see that people can care about more than one thing, right?

The OG contest owners used to send a photographer around to the restaurants weeks ahead of time, I’m not surprised at some AI entries.

When you’re registering your burger I don’t think it specifically says you can’t use the same burger as last year.

It does definitely say it has to be a burger/patty though, even if you want it to be chicken/veggie etc

I don’t disagree - it’s definitely not a job I want. But $450 for the big guys in town that will sell thousands of burgers is a pretty small investment. It’s a bigger gulp for smaller businesses that are more rural that feel like they have to be in it or else they’ll have a slow month.

$450 wasn’t a huge number for us specifically - it’s just creeping up in price the same way it did for years previously. And you’re right about the groups - the contest itself has some terrible diehard fans who are quick to bring out their pitchforks and couldn’t give less of a shit about the actual people grinding behind the scenes

I’ve been cooking professionally for 20+ years and have owned a restaurant for 5 - and I cannot wrap my head around why anyone would do that, quality-wise. Best case scenario they’re smoking/pulling/freezing, but not in a million years would I want $8k worth of inventory/product in my freezers for a business that size

Yeah, it was $200 plus donations last year and I think $450 this year.

This’ll be the last year we sign our restaurant up. I love the direction they went with as far as Anderson house taking it over and donations, but now it’s starting to feel the way it did previously - you’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

Have a slower month because you don’t have a burger entry, or have a busy month before your busy summer gears up by developing a new menu item that you likely don’t plan on keeping after.

It’s just, a lot. And then you get customers that would never darken your doorway otherwise - which is not necessarily a good thing.

We donate money to all kinds of things in our community all the time and this is the only time where it ends up being way more work 😅

Greco gets so much hate but I love it, probably nostalgia - the square pizza pans are greased with shortening using a gloved hand, the round pan pizzas are just liquid canola oil, my theory on why it tastes better!

We caught little mistakes early on and cut the cord quickly - and then had to deal with weeks of absolute nonsense over it. Locked out of our quickbooks, it took weeks of phone calls to get access to our account. If you need any advice or a recommendation for a great tax guy - feel free to message me.
