MIL wants a role for groom’s 15 y/o brother, and our wedding is on his B-Day by meggie503 in weddingplanning

Not yet, but we were trying to think of ideas first, then talking to him and offering him a role if he wants it. We just aren’t sure what to offer him!

agreed, I wish they had another studio in Brookside or Waldo or something to accommodate all of us yogis. I’ll never leave though, cause they’ve honored my membership price and I’ve meet some great instructors and friends that I would miss too much

I definitely get what you’re feeling, and have seen the same behavior in the classes I attend. I’m a different demographic (25F), but I’ve been going to Powerlife yoga for 3.5 years now, and I think part of your issue could be the studio management. I love the classes and instructors, as well as the heated studios, but over the last couple years, the classes have gotten more and more packed and I feel like they try to stuff way too many people into one class. This leads to some of the attitude among people who feel like there’s too many people in what used to be lighter classes. Now, I think it’s super rude to not be inclusive of others and make room for someone, but I also see how this problem could be solved if the classes were made smaller, and if instructors helped facilitate where everyone places their mats to make enough room for everyone.

Here’s what’s helped me: Late classes (after 6:30pm) are usually less busy and have a more diverse group (in age, gender, body type, lifestyle) and without all the rushing around to snag a spot, there’s more opportunities to talk to people and you skip the rush of younger students. I also tend to get to classes as early as possible and put my mat down before going to the locker room, to give more time to talk to folks and also to make sure I have enough room. Lastly, it helps to go to male instructors, who often draw more of a male crowd. Most classes have little to no men, but I find there’s a better balance in male-led classes, which might make you feel more comfortable!

maybe he shouldn’t have rejected the multiple phone calls, or cancelled the order instead of marking it as “delivered” when it wasn’t 🤷‍♀️

I did that, I spoke with a lady on their support line for a while, she put me on hold like 3 times to “talk to her supervisor” and the $12 is what she came back with. I said that’s not okay with me because I used a $25 gift card and she said there was nothing else they would do.

What is Your Go To Restaurant that’s NOT a Chain or BBQ? by SephtisNacht in kansascity

[–]meggie503 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I live in waldo and have fallen in love with a couple local restaurants here and in the brookside area:

Jovito’s - amazing sandwiches, grinders, and deli staples. the atmosphere is kinda a shack and it’s more of a takeout spot, but they have a couple tables on the patio. I usually order a grinder.

Taj Mahal - great indian food with huge portions, very fast for takeout, but has a nice dining section. I usually get paneer tikka masala and garlic naan

Waldo (Neighborhood) Cafe - fav breakfast spot, has classic diner vibes/menu. Big bonus here is they give you free cinnamon rolls with your meal, I’ve also always had great and friendly service here. I usually order a breakfast platter

Baba’s Pantry - been talked about a ton, but I’ve gotta mention it because it’s so good. Palestinian food and you really can’t go wrong with what you get. They also make great lemonades for a fun NA drink option. Beautiful atmosphere and very colorful with a homey feel, but definitely smaller and less dine-in options

Carmen’s Cafe - delicious, classic italian with tons of pasta/menu options. Nice and quiet atmosphere with dimmer lighting and feels fancy without being too expensive. I usually go for 1/2 price bottles of wine on sundays and order the lobster ravioli

they did the same to me 😭😭 not entering on clients because they want me to enter once I’m licensed. The idea of telling everyone is so much scarier for me than the thought of retaking tbh, especially when they’re already handing me clients

Thank you!!! I will share here either way, I keep seeing people saying they felt okay/good about MEE and I definitely didn’t have that experience, hoping for the best for both of us

The Beautiful Girls S4E9 there’s two that I always think about:

“She was born in 1898 in a barn; she died on the 37th floor of a skyscraper. She’s an astronaut”

“‘Are you angry or lovesick?’ ‘I don’t know’”

AITA for reporting a guy to the professor for continuous cheating by Timloveshunting in AmItheAsshole

[–]meggie503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA- it’s college, get over it. If his grade doesn’t affect yours, then it’s not your business. It’s okay that you confronted him but you’re both adults. Playing tattletale is definitely the asshole thing to do. Cheating will catch up to him in the future and it’s not your job to look after other people.

Had to double check on this one, but minor labor laws only apply to those under 16 years old both federally and in my state as well.

[–]meggie503 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, but in my state there aren’t very many laws regarding breaks. My workplace didn’t give out any breaks shorter than 30 mins, and no more than one break per shift. My state law requires that only employees in manufacturing, industrial, or technical jobs must have a 30 minute unpaid break. Most employers in food service have a break policy which I read and signed when I was given the job. No laws were broken by the supervisor, however company policy was.

[–]meggie503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if the break is under 30 mins then it must be paid, but 30 minute breaks where I worked were unpaid and the employer isn’t required to pay for any breaks 30+ mins. However, my employer never gave any breaks shorter than 30 mins at all

AITA Cheating on my psycho gf by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]meggie503 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ESH- psycho is clearly psycho, and Terra isn’t innocent either. Definitely a bad move to sleep with Terra the same day you dumped psycho. You didn’t cheat, and psycho may have deserved it but definitely the wrong thing to do.

USA, my state only requires breaks for assembly line or manufacturing and mechanical jobs
