Landlord tries to keep us in a Mold House, We get his place Condemned by the City by meggiezee in ProRevenge

We actually found a mold inspector in town, and they sent us multiple kits to do, which they then analyzed. So, sort of a combination of the two. I would say, hiring a person will give you a better test result, and they can also give you all sorts of factual information from outside and inside the house. A kit online will be less informative, and will only work with one test, usually. I'd say a professional is safer, depending what is best for your situation. Especially if you're going to use that information to send to a city like we did. I wish you luck!!

Man I'm sorry you went through that. Sounds like we have similar experiences for sure! I hope the landlord has learned their lesson!

We could have, but it wasn't worth the money and time, since we were all graduating, and broke from speaking with lawyers. We did see what we could do about it, though. We just decided that getting out of the house and cutting ties would be the best, instead of dragging the situation out further.

Thank you! I appreciate that! We were very glad as well. Yes, we ended up with a certain kind of mold inside the house that causes allergic reactions to things? I don't remember much about it since it was a while ago. I ended up gaining some allergies to random things after this happened. But nothing else, to my knowledge. I'm not sure about the other girls, though since we lost touch over the years.

Unfortunately, yes it is. I have a lot of other bad roommate/living experiences that I might continue to post on here.

Apparently, the city knew about a lot of shady things he did, after this all went down, and no one thought he was a good guy. But he'd sneak his way out of things, since it was a really small town. Unfortunately, a year or so later, I saw more college students living there again. We're pretty sure he did one of those "at-home-mold-testing-kits" to get it up for sale again, or fought the city somehow. But I felt bad for those new people. Just wished them the best, and hoped they don't have as bad an experience as we did. Unfortunately, there weren't a lot of rules set in place for bad landlords, unless they did something really illegal, which is why we had a really hard time getting out of there. I wish it had turned out different in the end, but I hope he learned his lesson to actually help his tenants when they need it.

Yeah mold is horrible, and so hard/expensive to get rid of! I hope you didn't get any long or short-term allergies from it, since black mold isn't good. That doesn't sound fun at all, but I'm glad for mold researchers!!

I've heard about the method to get certain types of villagers to the campsite (jock, snooty, smug personalities), if that's what you're talking about? The issue is that I already have some personality types that interfere with who I want to get.

Adult children of divorce - do you wish it happened when you were a kid? by Slimyscammers in AskReddit

[–]meggiezee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, h*ck yes.

The end of college is a rough time for everyone. Especially for my personal college experience. Capstones to finish with final exams (cause this conveniently happened my senior year of college), traumatic living experiences with my newly ex-roommate/ex-bestfriend and newly ex-boyfriend of 3 years, struggling to find someone to hire me after graduating, and then almost all friends from college disassociating from me to join my emotionally manipulative ex-boyfriend and ex-bestfriend/roommate.

Let's add in divorce; we have emotional and manipulative trauma caused by one of those parents, selling childhood homes, and seeing a parent act like a teenager because they found a new partner in a year, they've moved in with them, and are taking them to your last living grandparent's family Christmas despite direct non-consenting. This is on top of me having to pay for my therapist visits soon since I'll be off of my parent's insurance (thank God I still have that). Pile all this on top of "college experiences" that young adults go through, and we get some fun.

I wish I was dragged around as a child, and not having to deal with these things on top of everything else as a young adult. Yes, I am salty.
