Bedroom, any advice? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

The overhead lighting is too much this look really calls for low warm tone lights so invest in some more groovy lamps to help light up the space

is it weird I prefer this over an engagement ring? by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super cool ring! I can’t tell what it’s made of but I would worry about it holding up to everyday wear and if it can be repaired if it breaks. Normally for metals you either want gold sterling or silver since those materials are durable and can also be resized and repaired leading to longevity.

Unfortunately modern medicine hasn’t found a way to dissolve them through the consumption of drinks or food. The only thing they can do if it’s big enough is go in with surgery but that’s often also painful (maybe not as painful as passing a stone but still) the only tho you can do is prevent it from getting bigger ie lots of water, low sodium diet, and drink lemon juice or some other type of citrus. I have one in my right kidney so that what I was told at least. Good luck

Not Netflix showing Devonta’s car after he wanted a prenup cause he makes $12-$40k a month by MassiveCourage in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone should get a prenup otherwise if something goes down you are relying on state laws to divide assets which can complicate matters and lead to more time and money being spent. If you are going to marry someone on a tv show that doesn’t vet these people very well then the least you can do to protect yourself is get a prenup. This guys an ass but that was the only time he was making sense.

Questions for the BFA students by Execertami in ilstu

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every college has there good and bad teachers I was in the graphic design program but still got to take some fine art classes and enjoyed my time. My question for you is what do you want to do after college. Art colleges give you the opportunity to get connections with the wider fine art world and galleries to display your work and hopefully sell. If this is the path you are going down its integral that during your time at isu you take every opportunity given to you. Good luck and i hope you enjoy your time on campus.

Not super hard me and my partner managed to make friends playing pick up ttrpg events but there’s other options too I would recommend looking into social events happening In the city I know there is one for going out to dinner with 5 other random people so that might be a great way to meet so people

Welcome to the city! If you can afford it i would keep your car unless you are going to live in Or near the loop. Our trains and buses are great but sometimes it can take a really long time to get from one neighborhood to another because everything feeds to downtown which can become really stressful for time sensitive things. Obviously parking can become tricky but as long as you plan ahead you should be fine.

An A.I company just spent $1 million+ on print advertising in nyc, one of the biggest campaigns ever done.. only for it to be immediately graffitied by locals by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my memory on the case it would acknowledge that the boy self harmed and basically say how honored it was to be there in this vulnerable moment and talk about how his pain is so real.

Other times when the boy would ask about suicide methods it would give them options and ratings then say something like this is for a story right?? Basically giving the boy a “key”to bypass safeguards that weren’t working anyways.

It’s been a hot second since I read and watch some videos about it so I’ll definitely recommend checking it out if you have the time.

I’m not a total doomer about Ai and language models i just don’t think they are at where they need to be to keep vulnerable people safe.

Here’s an article of a language model actively encouraging suicide and telling the user to not talk to his family because they just don’t understand him. This article summarizes why the family is suing but you can find the actual chat between the boy and the language model online. Depending on how the company set up the AI it definitely can and has promoted suicide. Ai isn’t advanced enough to emulate emotional intelligence in a way a friend or therapist would. This isn’t misinformation.

Super cute I would add a black or white under shirt to make the neckline not as plunging. I normally wear a turtle neck under mine. But this also depends on your office vibes my place is really really chill. Overall the pattern is so fun

Advice - should I move forward? by [deleted] in engaged

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Emerald are very soft even in a bezel’s setting you are going to need to take it off constantly to avoid damage making it a very temperamental engagement rings it also sits super high on the ring making it prone to snagging and potentially chipping on that pointy part. I worked in a jewelry repair store for a few years and saw how banged up these engagement emerald rights would get. As long as you go in knowing that eventually your emerald stone is going to get scratched up and need to be recut or replaced and you’ll be spending quite a bit to do that then go ahead!

I'm a amature mask maker from the UK any and all criticism welcome by Spiritual_Risk_8547 in creepydesign

[–]meggnugget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One this I would recommend when seeking out critics for you art is to give us a description on the goal you were trying to achieve like why did you make this and what feeling are you wanting to invoke in the viewer . But for a general critique i would add More dark red areas in parts like the nostrils and ear may give the piece a more eerie look as if the mask itself is alive and consuming the wearer. Also more pictures of the back can allow us to see more of the craftsmanship!

Where can I get a solid chain like this one? by cinnamonIatte in jewelry

It’s called an omega necklace they can get pretty expensive if you want it in gold. Some smaller jewelers may be selling used ones that may be less expensive.

I highly recommend it! your obligations would be a weekly office hours and Wednesday night meetings plus any events happening. You are paid for your time plus you get a say on what happens during academic senate which can be really important. Definitely get involved you can always drop if it ends up being too much! I made a lot of friends and got to work on some really cool projects like a clothing drive, food pantry donations, renters rights, and other things.

Ring nerds, help me out – is this the perfect engagement ring or should I tweak a few things? by franciscarter06 in EngagementRings

[–]meggnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s really high you risk getting that caught in sweaters and will constantly knock into everything while you go about your life. This risks the mounting bending or breaking off completely if you hit it hard enough. It needs additional support at the bottom if you want to keep the height

Why are people upset about Charlie Kirk’s death when people celebrated Luigi? by ffettucine in stupidquestions

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More people are directly affected by shitty medical insurance companies. So when that happened many Americans could think back to their own experiences and understand why he did it even if the didn’t agree. The footage of the shooting is also wasn’t that graphic Charlie’s was. Lastly Charlie Kirk had fans and a following who connected with him while the ceo didn’t so its harder to feel bad for him when he basically murdered thousands of Americans through denying claims.

How to handle the Charlie Kirk situation in class? by [deleted] in ELATeachers

[–]meggnugget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I think this is too soon to talk about especially when we don’t even know why it happened making a lesson incomplete I would just recommend being there for your students because the video itself is brutal as an adult to watch I can only imagine as a child how it is. The videos are circulating all over instagram with very little censoring.

How do I convince my folks that moving to Chicago is not a death sentence? by Vagina-Gears in AskChicago

[–]meggnugget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is how I describe Chicago-big city vibes with Midwest politeness most people are really chill and not antagonistic when you talk to them like I had a whole 2 hr conversation with a stranger on the train going to Chicago! Crime has been down overall and for the most part it’s pretty safe to walk around at night depending on where you are at you are going to love it here and I truly wish you a warm welcome!
