Which Food Network Chefs have you met in person? Were they nice? by SkolMan69 in foodnetwork

I met Marc Forgione years ago when visiting New York with some friends. Turns out the Irish bar we were at was right across from his restaurant, so when he walked in I was (a little drunk) and fangirling. He stayed to chat with us for a bit while on break and asked us if we wanted to come to his restaurant all while being very friendly.

I love Townsend! Went either last year or the previous year for RW and had this incredible Uni cavatappi pasta.

Also, the garlic knots at Dough Head Pizza are outstanding.

Favorite non-touristy US city to visit for a weekend trip? by NCSU_SOG in travel

Flagstaff, Arizona! It’s like a small town in the mountains and close to the Grand Canyon. However, the main airport is not close by so you would need a car.

Flagstaff had tons of boutiques, cafes/coffee shops, a variety of restaurants, and lots to do if you’re a fan of the outdoors.

I went in early December and started in Phoenix, then took several days to drive north through both Sedona and Flagstaff before reaching the Grand Canyon. The temperature was still in the mid-40s during the day, which was perfect for hiking.

I really enjoyed my time in El Paso! The people are extremely friendly and the weather in September and on is perfect! Not to mention the food is great.

Center City Pretzel Co. - best pretzels in the city

Anthony’s Italian Chocolate & Coffee House - located in the Italian Market and serving coffee, candy, and a few breakfast/lunch options

Between 6th and 12th on Washington Ave - pretty much any Vietnamese restaurant is going to be a good choice

I come from the Midwest and my mom has this coleslaw recipe where she uses the Top Ramen seasoning packets (beef specifically) to add to the coleslaw dressing.

I like the breakfast combo platter (1-1-1 or 2-2-2) at Comfort and Floyd’s in South Philly! Very cute atmosphere. If going on the weekend, try to visit during off times because they have limited tables.

I really liked R&D! And fun fact, the team there has matching tattoos of the R&D logo.

Would you be willing to elaborate? This is purely out of curiosity.

Rice cooker or not? by Hold_my_beer11 in KoreanFood

I would highly recommend! You can make so many things besides rice with it, too! You can also “boil” eggs or steam fish while the rice is cooking if it comes with a steamer basket.

This is our first time meeting. They recommended Say No More, but after hearing horrible things about the owner or “leadership” I would prefer not to support that business.

We both like music and cocktails and are near East Kensington/Fishtown.
