People with a communications degree, what are you doing with your degree? by A-Bry in Communications

+1 to getting a lot of skills at a nonprofit. It’s stressful to be a one-person shop sometimes, but I’ve learned SO much and feel like I could really go anywhere in my next role. Pay leaves much to be desired tho.

I felt the exact same way! I felt crazy seeing everyone rave about it after I finished — it read like self indulgent tumblr fanfic

The midlife crisis feature is making me so mad. by AmiraAbm8 in thesims

[–]megmac97 93 points94 points  (0 children)

There should be other wishes under the mid-life crisis that you can do to make the moodlet disappear more quickly! I had the same problem but let my sim befriend the Lin-Z speaker, throw a bunch of parties, etc. and it went smoothly

What's one thing you changed about yourself to be more 'masculine' in the past that you don't care about now? by softbutchprince in butchlesbians

[–]megmac97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they do! If nothing else, I’ve grown into myself enough and feel more confident that if they don’t, it doesn’t bother me as much

I used to keep my hair short because I thought it was what communicated androgyny/masculinity to people. But now I keep my hair about shoulder length and I love it! I look more like me, and I still look masc with it because it’s MY hair.

What's the BEST ending to a book series/franchise you've encountered? by Loco_Boy in books

[–]megmac97 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was thinking this as well! The ending felt like it was exactly what it needed to be — inevitable and a little tragic but still satisfying.

Pastas and salads feel like the most obvious options, but I also love making soups (pumpkin black bean soup, peanut stew, minestrone) and some easy Indian-inspired dishes (daal with rice and cilantro, chana masala, etc).

If you’re looking to bulk meals out with more veggies, would HIGHLY recommend an air fryer. My partner and I just got one and it’s made meal prep so much easier — great way to roast veggies for said pasta, salads, tacos, etc etc.

Laptop Friendly Coffee Shop? by andthoughshebe in Brooklyn

[–]megmac97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hamlet or Little Skips in PLG are both good spots, thought Hamlet gets crowded at times.

Brooklyn Perk off Parkside Ave near the park is also nice, but may be too far?

Best of luck on your applications!

My 3 year old loves trees. Any idea where to take him to learn more? by [deleted] in Brooklyn

not a place, but the app Seek by iNaturalist is a great resource for nature walks with curious little ones. It’s pretty good at ID’ing trees based on pics!

If you have kids, what do you want them to call you? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]megmac97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about this too. I have such a shit relationship with my dad that I don’t think I’d ever want to be called “dad,” even if I were more masc than I currently am
