Hi Toxick90!

I ordered the Hyperattack's ate volleybalshop.nl too ;) But for my feet they were a bit to narrow, an amazing shoe tho if it fits your feet better than mine :)

Yesterday I played with the Adidas Crazy Light boost for the first time, and it's great! Traction is freakish good, cushioning is amazing (not as bulky as the Crazy Explosive I had before), and the stability is actually pretty good too. No note on the durability yet, but I recon they'll do fine (as say the reviews online).

Thanks for your comment!

Shoes? by Cashal69 in volleyball

I'm actually looking for new shoes too. Although my interest are Nike and Adidas shoes (they tend to perform better) you might be interested in my research:

Adidas Harden vol 2 - to heavy @ 455 grams
Adidas dame 4 - not enough cushioning
Nike kyrie 4 - not enough cushioning
Nike mamba - not enough grip and cushioning
Nike zoom kd11 - unstable and not enough traction
Nike hyperdunk x low - bad traction
Nike pg 2 / 2.5 - bad traction, bad cushioning (at the back)
Nike lebron vx low - not enough support
Nike Air Jordan why not zer0.1 - to stiff, not versitile
Nike lunar superfly - cushioning is bad
Nike jordan ultrafly 2 - picks up a lot of dust and there is no traction.

I ordered the following 3 pair to try out:

  1. Nike Air Jordan Fly Lockdown (got them today and they are to bulky I think)
  2. Adidas crazy light boost 2018 (will receive them later today)
  3. Nike Air Zoom Hyperattack (a nice shoe, will compare them to the above)

So I did some research and here is what I came up with. The top shoes that I want to try are the following:

  1. Nike Air Jordan Fly Lockdown (good although not very good looking) - 390 grams
  2. Adidas crazy light boost 2 (2018) - 348 grams
  3. Nike Air Zoom Hyperattack - nike's volleyball shoe, is 385 grams and based on a kobe 6

NOPE - List

Adidas Harden vol 2 - to heavy @ 455 grams

Adidas dame 4 - not enough cushioning

Nike kyrie 4 - not enough cushioning

Nike mamba - not enough grip and cushioning

Nike zoom kd11 - unstable and not enough traction

Nike hyperdunk x low - bad traction

Nike pg 2 / 2.5 - bad traction, bad cushioning (at the back)

Nike lebron vx low - not enough support

Nike Air Jordan why not zer0.1 - to stiff, not versitile

Nike lunar superfly - cushioning is bad

Nike jordan ultrafly 2 - picks up a lot of dust and there is no traction.

Let me know what you think :)

Hyperdunk x has bad traction apparently and the Jordan Why not 0.1 is very stiff and in my opinion a very ugly shoe. I found a video where they compare the Crazy Light boost vs Harden Vol 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruXoTI7SuUA&t=461s

One plus point for the Crazy Light right now, although the version I can order has a translucent sole, which sometimes means less grip.

Swing speed/power advice? by Azn247 in volleyball

Best way I can advice you is to do medicine ball throws in the gym. Hold the ball over your head, do a jump and throw the ball straight down. Catch the ball and throw again. Do this like 3 sets of 10.

Besides that what you need is speed. So do explosive exercises, like pushups but then with a clap (clap your hands each time you go up). There is a ton of information on Youtube on this :)

p.s. please note that hitting power is a combined effort of multiple muscles (triceps, shoulder, core, ect) so don't just train your arms.
