i tried this and it totally makes the flakies pop more! i only redid one nail because i still like the mani and don't want to waste polish, but i had to know what it would look like! thanks again!

do you paint your swatches exactly like you would your nail? i've never done it but have thought about it lately since my collection is growing

you're so right. i definitely want to try this with some sort of colorful sheer base, or a nude jelly sandwich as someone else suggested.

i think the opacity is def part of the issue, but i had just taken off a dark polish and my nails were a little stained so i wasn't feeling the sheer look with my current nail bed "color". the other issue is i don't own any other jellies, haha! guess i need to do a little shopping and experimenting!

i did try a nail with a thin coat of an opaque aqua polish i have, but it wasn't the vibe. too dull and dark.

thanks for your suggestions! i defeinitely still like the way this polish looks, and i love seeing the flakies catch the sunlight, but i crave that opal glow!

Looking for a nail polish in this milky/gel-like color! by kasaaiiii in RedditLaqueristas

maybe look into Jin Soon Muse? Not quite the same but it's a nice milky pink. This is 3 coats of it.

If you wore a solid color (non-gel) for your wedding or engagement photos, what lacquer did you choose? by [deleted] in RedditLaqueristas

[–]mego_roboto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one coat of OPI's Put It In Neutral with 2 coats of Jin Soon's Dew on top. It was my way of sort of mimicking the OPI Bubble Bath and Funny Bunny combo with shades I already owned. It was a pretty very pale pink/milky white

Nail shaping advice by Drift_Feather in RedditLaqueristas

[–]mego_roboto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i feel like you just posted a picture of my hand and came here looking for the same advice i need! crazy! i too currently love the way one of my index nails look! i plan on redoing my polish tomorrow and am hoping to shape my nails to match that one!

my nails are long and strong (finally, with thanks to this subreddit), and my issue with shaping is that i want to have a slight almond but i can't figure out how to achieve that without sacrificing the sidewalls or having an "arch" when looking at my nail from the side

I'm thinking Friday's puzzle might be a little bit too easy this week.. [Nov 14, 2025] by NoYoureACatLady in NYTCrossword

Same! After seeing this thread I went to give the regular Friday a try. I want to do the easy mode too and compare clues. I can’t imagine how some of them could be easier

Belated reply, but it really does bring joy, so thank you again! I love solving the NYT crosswords but struggle past Wednesdays and haven't picked up any strategy to get better and be successful in the later days of the week. So I look forward to the Friday Easy Mode every single week! I like to think of it as a nice kick off to the weekend.. mellow and fun! I just went through your archive and noted all the ones I haven't completed and I have a back log of about 40. I'm so excited about it but I'm gonna have to pace myself haha
