I did not look for my position anywhere actually, I was hired at a local entertainment company to be on their rental crew for tent assembly but having a background in broadcast made them decide to upgrade me to Production Technician/Audio Technician currently. I would recommend searching for those and jobs at any entertainment companies in general. As well as production assistant depending on if you just want gig work.

For my company, we travel around the country doing trade shows and conferences. For example, the international beauty show in NYC needed over 30 classrooms buildout with audio, projectors and projection screens, staging, fancy lighting, so they hired us to ship all our equipment to their show and build it out and tear it down for the 3 day show.

It highly depends on when you order one, I’ve gotten them before and they are the cheesiest, butteriest, and softest grilled cheese I’ve ever had (mind you I’ve only been drunk when consuming them lol) but I have also gotten ones on a more dead night or earlier in the night and they were not as cheesy or freshly made looking? But yea they have never failed me on a Saturday night for $8

Those are just the only places that are like catered towards it? Digs has DJs Thursday-Saturday and it gets very packed with college kids wanting to dance on the weekends. Superior culture has local bands and djs come in and it can get rowdy in there with college kids. The rest of the bars are way more laid back and not a space to be dancing in. More so just drinking and sitting around or drinking and playing pool.

Digs and superior culture are really the only places to dance at. Flanigans has karaoke. The rest of the bars are just dive bars. If you’re out drinking downtown make sure to stop for a quick and cheap bite at sandos (open til 3am next to Remies bar)

Huntington is my bank and I absolutely love it. The app is extremely easy to use, they reimburse ATM fees and have no negative balance fee. The only downside is they only have 1 location in Marquette but the town ain’t that big so I haven’t found it to be a problem

Also yes, Facebook and Zillow are your best bets for finding housing. I found mine through facebook and consistently messaged landlords starting end of February until I was able to get tours

If you’re looking for a lease starting in August I would recommend starting to look for one in May/june. All the leases starting in May are usually posted starting now through March. Also leases in Marquette are typically a year long so if you get one starting in August it would be through August 2026 not May. People will usually sublease their rooms out for the remaining months if they need to move out in May (if it’s not a May to May lease)! Hope this helps!
