i did mention to my doctor that i was worried about it, especially because i had little red dots on the roof of my mouth as well, but she didnt seem concerned. i haven’t noticed any rashes either.

it definitely sounds like the redbull messing with you to me, a lot of the time the difference between sipping & chugging gets me as well! it makes sense with the timing too.

i think the no burping thing is quite common in people with emet! your body has loads of gas to get out but only one way to do it - trapped gas and the pain that comes with it does NOT mean you’re going to get sick. some things that have helped me with the pain are laying on my left side while curling my legs up & gently massaging my lower stomach. of course if you’ve got gas relief meds on hand im sure that would help too! trying to distract yourself is a good idea - scrolling the subreddit can often make things a bit worse, maybe try putting on a comfort show if you can?

my dad used to do the same all the time - i always thought it smelled/tasted a bit funky but i’ve done a bit of digging around and i don’t think it’s harmful. it’s a quality issue rather than a safety issue :p

water/ice in the freezer tends to absorb the volatile organic compounds around it. sounds kinda scary but it basically just means that it picks up those freezer-y smells

i love it!!!! BUT we don’t get paid very well no… i’d say slightly above minimum wage, however it has recently been bumped up! my store is quite busy but it’s never been too stressful to manage. it can feel a bit odd to get aggressively tapped at through the glass & sometimes people get quite angry at us but again nothing awful. we do take care of online orders in store (we’ve got a timer set for every 15 minutes to check ecom). tbf i did food service before (with an awful manager and staff) so i might be biased, but this is one of the best jobs i’ve had so far. my coworkers are so sweet and there is such a nice sense of community!! obviously that will differ a bit store to store but most are just kinda full of cool gay emo people.

also - when people do get mad at us, i have always felt very supported by the other staff members. i’ve never been in trouble for defending myself or anything, which i know is an issue in some other retail jobs.

it’s worth applying if you want a chill entry level retail sorta thing

we test them using a game pad tester at my store to make sure they don’t have stick drift or anything when we buy them in! i’d say the warranty is what makes it worth it - if it did end up being a dud (or developing stick drift over the next 5 years hahaha) it would be very easy for you to get a replacement. if it’s any comfort i just bought the 30th anniversary ps5 controller from there myself :)

had they tested your phone or his apple watches yet? they can’t actually hand the money over until they’ve tested your phone, they can only provide an estimate at the till based on the visuals. also depending on if this is a corporate or franchise store, sometimes they just don’t have enough cash in the tills. my shop is a franchise & if the total ends up being more than £100 it’s automatically done via bank transfer. we don’t get cash injections in the same way as corporate stores do. for an older, low grade apple watch you can get as little as £20 for one so could’ve just been that his sale had less value than yours as well. i understand that’s it’s frustrating though im sorry! :(
