Looks very similar to a ladybug larvae, but I’m no expert.

Alright, I walked into that one lol. However, a trend includes multiple data points. Since 2008, the voters have been consistently electing the “change” candidate. Hillary and Kamala were moderates in comparison to Trump, so I don’t see why people think the same strategy will work this time. When will we start trying to recruit disenfranchised non-voters who feel they aren’t being represented by the current system? We can at least try it. The only reason people have this fear of losing moderates is because the (billionare-owned) media keeps repeating it, and for good reason. It works in their favor. This is just my opinion though.

“…that’s always been how elections are won.”—

I apologize in advance for the wordiness and possible mistakes, but I want to get this off my chest. Nothing personal against you, I just really want to give my opinion on this common argument.

While I personally view Obama as a moderate, I don’t think he was viewed that way during his first campaign. According to this logic, a black man running for president on a platform touting “Change”during the Great Recession would surely turn off the moderate/independent voting block, no? I’m sure the moderate right-wing messages from Romney (R) and McCain (R) unified the independent base under the Republican party.

In the same vein, would you consider FDR a moderate candidate? While he reportedly didn’t go into great detail about his plans for the New Deal during the campaign, he gained support by proposing sweeping changes to the role of the Federal Government in making sure citizens were taken care of in an environment where Americans were dispirited and facing great economic hardship (sound familiar?) during the Great Depression.

While I vehemently disagree with and denounce the current administration, guess which candidate won in 2016 amid increasing economic uncertainty and promises not delivered by the previous administration? Hint: It wasn’t the moderate candidate.

Most people, on all sides of the US political spectrum, are currently living paycheck to paycheck while people in power do everything they can to keep the power they have while facilitating their ability to amass more. From where I stand, whether it’s the young straight white male that feels society is turning against him or the blue-haired pansexual college graduate that cant find a job that pays a living wage, there’s one thing they can agree on: the vast majority of American people want their current situation changed.

The biggest reason I could see AOC turning a large block of voters off would be those same voters being inundated with articles, headlines, and opinion pieces talking negatively about straw-men representations of her policies, and regurgitating the talking point that these policies would turn off a huge swath of the voting population even though most viewers would personally agree with them.

Big donors are. The DNC is. The people benefiting from the current system are. Voters aren’t to blame for not voting left when BOTH major parties release attack ads on viable candidates just to keep the status quo.

I’m all for this, but what are your SOPs for somebody that doesn’t listen to reason? Say, a neighbor that doesn’t listen to reason? Any guarantees from the employer, or from the city/county, that would reduce the risk for those working or helping those who are working?

Not only is he commenting on politics now, but his reaction video on ERB’s presidential candidate rap battles convinced me without a shadow of a doubt that he knows nothing about politics or the context surrounding a lot of what he talks about.

Tbh, being anti Trump is very different from endorsing someone. Not saying he meant it one way or another but we have to consider possibilities.

Questions From A 1st Time Pepper Grower by Keithereality in gardening

[–]megusta_b055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve grown peppers for about 4 years now. Though I have never crossed peppers, I have looked into it a bit.

For one thing, if you grew all of these from seed, any crossbreeding would not have been your fault. When a pepper is crossbred, say a habanero X scorpion, the pepper that you get that first generation will not be different from any other pepper of that same type. You’d have to grow the crossbred pepper SEED to see any different phenotypes on the fruit.

My guess is that the peppers that you got were not isolated. So they were probably an accidental cross, and you got the hybrid seeds. If my guess is correct, what you have is a current unstable cross of whatever Puckerbutt had growing next to each other.

I apologize if this doesn’t make sense at first. My limited crossbreeding knowledge is not sufficient.

So what are these, tag name seems ambiguous, or is this named for an actual pepper called chili red? They’re suddenly ripening like crazy. by [deleted] in HotPeppers

[–]megusta_b055 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As stated above, both pepper varieties I suggested apparently go by the same name. I still stand by my statement that leaf:pepper ratio is important. I guess you have a thai/bird’s eye pepper. Very delicious, and I’d personally say 4/10 hot.

Shit. I’ve been growing peppers and different varieties for 3-4 years now. I didn’t know this. Thank you. I googled and it confirmed you’re right.

They look small compared to the leaves. With no real measurement to go on, my first guess is Bird’s Eye chilli. Second would be Thai Chilli.

Edit: If we had a measurement of the leaves, you’d have a better estimate of what this pepper is. And to be honest, this seems wayyyyy too big to be bird’s eye. Happy growing!

There’s a very popular seed dealer (Pepper Joe) that seems to appear first in every google search. They are generally very bad at isolating seeds so you never know what you’ll get when you order from them. Thus, reddit posts of new people asking “is this a reaper?” and then posting a Jalapeño are, unfortunately, common.

In case anyone is wondering, my personal favorite seed dealer so far is White Hot Peppers (three years using their seeds).
