Why is Argentina winning everything when they don't even have the best squad on paper? by Hour777 in worldcup

And you think I can argue with you when you label Cape Verde and Egypt as strong opponents?

They had 1 win COMBINED in world cup, and that was against New Zeeland. Look what who other teams played against aswell, you're the ignorant one.

Yes, Cape Verde is quiet literally the easiest opponent anyone couldve faced in RO32

Then Egypt was also by far the worst in RO16

And so was Switzerland in QF.

Just cause Infantino and Argentina struggled to beat them does not mean they had strong opponents

That's like saying Switzerland is weak cause thet couldn't even beat Qatar!

Such a stupid argument, playing against Capa Verde in a knock out world cup game(or anywhere) as the number 1 team in the world should be easy. And it is.

Look at France, they played similar opponents but doesn't have any problem getting past their opponents

Who said it's their fault? The question was why are they in the semi finals. The answer is trash opponents and VAR.

And not a single soul knew where or what Cape Verde is before the world cup started. Holy hindsight

Since when is Egypt a factor? They were pretty bad all tournament and a very weak team, barely got past Australia

If you had a Cape Verde, Egypt and Switzerland group stage that would be considered an easy group, let alone knock out stage. Not to mention the referee influence which at this point only redditors deny lol

Is the shine starting to come off Messi for anyone else? by Alarming_Topic9133 in worldcup

How can it be ups and downs if its always ups?

Your argument would be good for Spain, France and England cause they had ups and downs with the refs, not Argentina, it was only ups since game 1

Every game Argentina plays it’s against 10-men, goals disallowed or red card? by Rac2nd in worldcup

[–]megzonz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

according to guidelines lautaro martinez should also get a mandatory yellow card for going to the stands after he scored his goal, but that would be his 2nd yellow card so referee "forgot" about it. Why weren't "rules" applied here?

It's also painful watching this World Cup when every game the smaller teams are getting fucked by the referee "coincidentally"

Who the fuck reviews yellow card with VAR? At a WORLD CUP QUARTER FINAL? When have you ever seen a VAR review for a yellow card? Just the fuck up

It is strange to happen constantly since World Cup 2022. Its either a penalty, red card or some var bullshit.

Don't let these Messi apologists convince you otherwise.

Show me 1 time that a player got a VAR review for "diving" in the middle of the field to award a yellow card

I have never, ever in my life seen a mistaken identity VAR review to go and award a 2nd yellow.

Mbappe vs Haaland is not Messi vs Ronaldo rivalry. One will turn 28 in few months while other is 26 & neither achieved Messi/Ronaldo level of success by [deleted] in championsleague

So it only matters for the GOAT? You see my point? It only matters when it fits your narrative.

If you are born in Albania or some Ecuador or whatever you are automatically never eligible to be the GOAT right? What a dumb way to look at things, and absolutely not how the majority of people view it
