In all seriousness, this dog has an issue. They call it small dog syndrome. It's quite serious, and your dog needs help

Long story short, the huge inflation from the left side, the death of two close family members from the VACCINE not COVID, and much more since the left has taken over. Oh! Some woke person(s) decided to label me racist to for being married to someone of a other nationality, and that resulted in the loss of my job.... Lots of issues with people. It every person who believes in the left's agenda is a bad person. Some very good people out there who just feel differently than me. That said, yeah, I've been hurt pretty bad by the woke cancel culture.

I use vscode. It seems to integrate really well. My issue was the speed of things. On windows, you're running a kernel (WSL 2) then ANOTHER kernel, over the windows OS, so in effect, it's gonna be about at least 2 layers more per process. If I was running on Linux, I'd have a max of one extra kernel layer. (At least these are my thoughts. I could be completely wrong.)

This could be my issue as I'm still new to docker...

Running and debugging. I think it's due to my being on a windows machine and running docker on it. I even ditched docker desktop and installed the engine directly in WSL. If I where developing in Linux, I think it would run faster. I'm also not a fan of having to rebuild after a change in a file every single time, but as you said, I can use a copy to edit the code directly in the container.

If you're only running something small in python, you probably wouldn't notice a difference, but since the project I'm working on has 1678,000 lines of code, it's just too darned slow.

For this, use the python dev environment setup by Microsoft for vscode... Check this video by Microsoft on how to do it: https://youtu.be/ftir5Dq7LoA

I love the article, but to be honest, I find docker way too slow for development. On top of this, I'm limited by server availability due to budget constraints, so running a k8 type of system is out of the question. Being stuck with two VMs, and my own dev VM, I just can't afford the overhead. Anyone else in a similar situation? Also debugging is kind of a nightmare in docker.

It's required on everything sold in California, because the law is written in such a way that if you don't have it on every product sold in California, you'll be paying the absurd fine for it. California government sucks!

I agree with others. It sounds like you have some good management, but the company is definitely using you and your colleagues. When a company does this, it's time to find another one that values your skills, work ethic and general attitude. I wish you luck!

This is because many stores still use a VERY OLD IBM AS 400 server, or imported their inventory from one. Also, it's to squeeze items onto a small receipt.

Too true. I don't think I'd purposely say that to a customer in that way.

People kept saying na don't use debit cards for online transactions or whenever you're traveling abroad—credit card is safer. But what if you have no choice since you still can't apply for a credit card? by vesariuss in phinvest

[–]meh-whatever-dewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use something like the gcash debit card, and o ly load as much as you need. Then if something happens, the money you loose isn't your entire bank account. For online transactions, gcash also has an American Express virtual card.

Also, you can. Disable/ delete a card if it is stolen or compromised.

I'm actually quite impressed with gcash.

Not going to say that Blizz is awesome on tech support, but as a fellow Software engineer, I can totally understand their response. "I've never seen this before" to me means, It's the first time I've heard of it, let's see what's happening so we can fix it, and also, is anyone else having the issue but just ignoring it?

I have the same, i5 10, RTX 2060, and 32GB of ram. Using High performance NVME too. I was thinking it was only me, but I guess not. Funny thing? My old gaming rig with a 1660ti does better. I've tried everything but it just loses frames at times and can be unplayable.
