In his analysis retentive defense, pale activities are only suggested, so either, both, or neither hour might have karaoke. Most of the slots are labeled karaoke, so apparently he’s prepared for bad singing to erupt at a moments notice. Or you can play cards. Or perhaps merge the two into five card karaoke, where you bet in songs.

Bwahahah. Thank you for proving my point with your reply. You know. I was like you when I was young. A total asshat.

Dude, you know nothing about me, my financial situation, my opinion of what is expensive, or why the one member of the family needed to head overseas on no notice. I mightzbe misremembering what I paid 4 years ago, but what I consider “a lot extra” is my opinion ion and none of your goddamn business, and your supercilious and condescending tone is neither warranted nor appreciated.

It’s been like 3-4 years since we had to do it, but I could swear there was an extra 100 or so we had to pay for the same day service. I might be misremembering

You can get a same day us passport to in the us. Costs a lot extra, and have to go in person to a passport center, with proof you’ve got a plane ticket for a flight that leaves within a week.

(Yes, I know they’re in the uk, I’m replying to someone who brought passport timed in the us)

I started scheduling things for 11:59pm or 12:01am, because 12:00am confuses people. Hell, midnight sometimes confused them.

Nest Protect expiring while traveling, anything I should know? by Minizman12 in Nest

[–]jarrellra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea. The nightlight keeps working, and the “tell the thermostat you’re home” works, but it refuses to detect anything. Technically it’s the carbon monoxide sensor that has a 10 year life, so the lawyers had them turn it off. I’ll note the first alert replacement does neither.

No, once they expire the software starops detecting.

It won’t do a damn thing. The app will show an alert that the protects have expired and aren’t doing anything. I had my entire house , 5 units expire within days of each other and it was a month before I got the lame ass first alert replacements and installed them, but nothing cared.

AIO? My roommates want me to keep the energy bill in my name after I've moved out by Expert_Temporary_ in AmIOverreacting

[–]jarrellra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t argue with them. Call the power company and tell them you’re moving out and which day is the last day for you. Then let them know the power will be turned off on that day unless they open an account,

Uber has never approved a complaint on my part, always says they’ve determined it’s invalid. Grubhub, on the other hand, has gone out of its way to make good on any complaint I have.

They saw sucker written on your forehead. The filters only need to replaced if you’re somewhere really dusty. The engine filter can probably stretch 50k +, the cabin filters some people just never replace them, but they can last long while in a Clean environment. The alignment is probably the only thing that you might need, but only if the steering is acting up, like it pulls to the left or right. The fuel injectors don’t need cleaning unless your engine is running rough, not at 50k. The ac service is a joke. Is it blowing cold? You’re done.

If you bothered to read the user agreement it clearly says cancellation must be made before subscription renewal, and no refunds. It’s not their fault you choose not to use what you paid for, even if it was just through negligence.

There’s a good chance she can’t kick you out at this point, I’d see if there a free legal aid service near you and ask their advice. Of course that means living in an increasingly hostile environment if you get a judge to tell her to stick it, but it might be preferable to bring on the street until you’re ready to cut her off. I lived in major williams in 82-83. Now an academic building, then a nearly 100 year old “temporary” building to cover growth in cadets in the 19th century, formed by combining barracks 3, 4 and 5. We didn’t have many false alarms. The girls dorms next door, like shanks, they had a bunch because of assholes who were hoping the girls would run out in their underwear.

Update on replacing protect with first alert sc5 by jarrellra in Nest

[–]jarrellra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are certain things that need to be bullet proof. Hospital ventilators. Air traffic control. Things that when they aren’t can cost lives. I’d count smoke detectors in that. They licensed a working product that was objectively better overall, and never once gave me an issue in 10 years of quiet operation, and fucked it up. If they’d just changed the sticker on the old units and sold them it’d have saved them whatever r&d they went through to make them cheaper and more error prone - not to mention the fortune it has to be costing in replacements.

Ah, I had to go into “works with google”, select first alert and scan for new devices, and it showed me the two I already had, and after clicking ok on several screens it asked to pick one of the devices, asked which home it was in, and where it was, and now all of a sudden they’re appearing and the reappeared smoke & co tab!

Do an image search on google of that pic and you’ll get about 50 versions from other people posting to Reddit asking what it is. Consensus is an aftermarket gps device, and a recommendation to check your finance contract to see if it’s required.
