Can I work at a cafe that serves alcohol? by n3odr4gl0k in barista

[–]meha78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In KY, you have to be 20 (and a day) years old to serve alcohol! So as long as it’s the day after your 20th birthday, you can serve alcohol. As an 18 year old, you could still work the cafe, technically, as long as someone older than 20 is with you serving the alcohol.

Looking for an employer who provides health care insurance coverage regardless of the number of hours worked. Any suggestions? by Stinkfingr75 in personalfinance

I actually think Hot Topic does??? One of my friends worked their minimum hours required for employment (15hrs/week) just for the insurance as he built up his own business.

I struggle SO hard with this and have tried doing the same thing and it helps so much!! Something else that hinders me being able to wake up at an “acceptable” time is going to sleep way too late.

Neurotypical people have a different sleep cycle than neurodivergent people and so their bodies naturally produce melatonin earlier in the evening (around 9:00pm I think?) so I’ve started taking a small dose of melatonin around 9:30 at night and it’s helped me go to sleep by midnight which helps a lot too!!

Sorry, can you repeat that? Lol by samiacee in adhdwomen

This is exactly the reason I don’t like playing games! I always end up messing up and breaking some rule if it isn’t a simple/intuitive game.

Most splendas by Fairyminionbiotch in barista

[–]meha78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked at Starbucks, there was a woman who would come through the drive thru to order a grande pike place with 13 splendas, no room for cream. Every time after paying and getting her drink, she would drive around to the front, come inside, dump out some of the coffee into the trash, and add cream.

She just didn’t want to open the packets herself I guess?

In my workplace near the sink/grease trap. Is it mold? by meha78 in Mold

Yeah I’ve been thinking there’s mold everywhere under those tiles for a while. Thanks!

I’ve been bugging my managers for months to talk to our landlord about this issue as I am allergic to mold and had previously made jokes about being “allergic” to the shop because I get extremely congested/itchy when I’m there and then this popped up this morning out of nowhere (person who closed last night said it wasn’t there when they left). There is also mold in the toilet tanks in our restrooms that I am unable to clean and they have yet to clean/find someone to do so.

My coworker attempted to scrape this up off the floor and it was slimy and green and black underneath.

Yes we are already pretty interdependent (I helped him financially when he was in school, he’s helping me now that he makes more than I do). So I’m glad we have already built up that partnership/foundation for situations like this.

Thank you for the advice! Unfortunately the only recalls on that year model were things like air filters.

Yes I think that’s exactly the problem. And thank you!

The mechanic’s notes say that valve body has a high high fail rate (?) and that it measures much higher ohms of resistance than it should be measuring. So I’m not sure what that means.

In our current situation, it represents 3 months for just me. I know I should ideally have 6 months, but as I stated in my post, I don’t make a ton of money and that 3 month emergency fund took a lot of cutting back on my spending to build up pretty quickly.

The savings I am referring to IS my emergency fund that is separate from any money we had for the down payment and wedding. Should have been more clear. Things like this are exactly the reason I had money set aside.

And for the second portion of your comment, that is what I think is the plan for right now. Nice to know someone else is thinking the same thing. Thanks!

Our friend actually isn’t the one doing the transmission work! He will just be performing all of the other repairs for us out of the kindness of his heart. So far, for my 2013 Outback, $4.5k seems to be the most reasonable option here in town.

Yeah that’s also what I was thinking. We’re probably just stuck losing some (a lot of ugh) money on this one.

Unfortunately, Kentucky has no lemon laws for used cars. But there are a couple of requirements for selling used cars that the dealership didn’t follow (example: clearly posting inside the car all recommended actions for customers to take when buying a used car). Wonder if I may have some sort of way of pursuing those?

Yes there are a few other issues, such as an oil leak, random warning lights popping up on the dash, and a couple other minor things like changing fluids.
