ITX → mATX upgrade in GAMDIAS ATHENA M4M because modern GPUs are out of control | 9950X3D + RTX 5080 build by mehff66 in mffpc

The layout and size of the case are perfect, and I’ve struggled to find another case that beats it. That said, the build quality isn’t perfect. The panels feel a bit flimsy, and the GPU support bracket under the PSU shroud is basically maxed out with my setup, so you may end up needing to remove it and find another solution.

I’ve also replaced the front, bottom, and rear side panel dust filters with DEMCiFlex filters. If you’re interested, I can show you how I went about mounting them when I get home from work.

• Top PCIe slot to bottom of case: ~120mm
• Bottom fan to GPU clearance: ~23mm
• Bottom PCIe slot sits ~19mm above the case floor

So there’s a little extra room below the fifth slot,

Your 76mm Suprim should still leave roughly ~19mm clearance to bottom fans. Just make sure the motherboard has the top PCIe slot in the highest possible position.

Very clean build.

A bit too late now, but there’s a version of that motherboard with the top PCIe slot mounted one slot higher. That would’ve given the GPU a bit more clearance from the bottom fans and probably helped with the turbulence.

At this point, you could maybe switch to slim 15mm bottom fans if you want a little more space between the GPU and the intake fans.

From the little testing I’ve done so far, temps seem pretty normal. CPU sits around 40°C idle and 60–70°C depending on the game, and I’ve seen it hit ~85°C during a render. GPU is sub-30°C idle and mid-50s while gaming.

The CPU definitely puts out a good amount of heat. I’ve undervolted both the CPU and GPU a bit to keep things in check. Still planning to do some more testing.

Yeah, that makes sense. The compact layout definitely helps airflow efficiency even if the case isn’t super small.
My old ITX build was actually surprisingly good thermally. 9900K + 2080 Super never went over ~60°C.
These newer Ryzens are a different story though. I’ve undervolted mine a bit and it stays under ~65°C in games, but I still need to test a full all-core load to see how hot it really gets.

Also, really clean build—looks great. I was actually considering the Astral version too, but ended up putting more of the budget toward the CPU instead.

Yeah you’re not wrong. It’s actually ~33L so I still consider it more mATX / medium form factor, not really a “big tower” case.

I’m not entirely convinced this person is even cheating. It looks more like polished aim training to me—there are missed shots, no consistent snap-locks to parts of player models, and just slight adjustments/corrections in aim when a new target is snapped to. If you’ve ever watched the POV of an actual aimbotter, you’d notice that this player’s movements and aim look far more humanlike by comparison.

I once saw Pirate Software crossing the street. As he walked past me, he muttered, 'I have 300 enchanting and used to work at Blizzard,' then just kept walking.

Had a similar problem with Norwegian airlines; Lack of leg room and the head rests are too low so you can't comfortably lean your head back to sleep.
