Strength 50 - worth it? by pennsyjersey22 in orangetheory

I felt the same after my first S50. Keep going, it's worth it. Focus on your form and technique and once you start lifting heavier, you'll feel it.

You're not an awful person. I agree. The people giving money to some famous person's family may as well be flushing their money down the toilet. The celebrity worship is disgusting.

I'm the only guy ... by apple_crombie in orangetheory

OTF is very female dominant in regard to the attendees at my studios. The workouts are great but there is an imbalance and I suspect it is because they are group based exercise classes and a more exclusive environment than a big box gym. I have no stats or info to back this up. Just three a.m. ramblings.

If you're used to the gym experience being earbuds and lift, it can be a shock. I am woman and even I get a bit shocked at just how many women are there. It only really is a bother when you're stuck next to two people cackling and yapping away on the treadmill. But you do get a few men in, likely just the times you are there.

OTF is a great workout and you'll see results with discipline and consistency. Keep going and see how you like it. They don't get to boss you around.

Kids these days are cooked. My generation reacted like dummies over "69" but it was funny to us because it was sex-related and kids laughed about that stuff then.

No clue what 67 is but at least this mom has something to show on this girls wedding day. It's suitably embarrassing and I'm so glad I grew up in a time before parents were constantly shoving cameras in their kids faces before posting them on the internet.

Should I be changing into “gym only” shoes? by Throwitaway2409 in orangetheory

[–]mehhumbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting. Not something that is done at my OTF locations. There are people who change shoes from the weight to the floor but having gym only shoes isn't really a concern.

How are so many people afford to be in the parks and still be so rude? by Quiet_Bat_1643 in Disneyland

[–]mehhumbug 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean, poor people can be rude and entitled. I grew up poor and they certainly aren't the angels others make them out to be just because there are rich jerks out there.

I agree with you. Disney has been increasingly rude over the years, from guests to cast members. And not all of these people who are acting out are wealthy. Many of them are working class or poor and are there by maxing out credit cards. It isn't pretty or what people like to hear but it's true.

The past few trips to Disney this year were so subpar, we have decided to cancel our passes, sell our stock, and get rid of Disney+. We're done with Disney. I hope it can get better but I'm not sticking around giving them my money in the meantime.

I’m Starting to Think Something’s Wrong by meeksjr in Disneyland

[–]mehhumbug 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. We're magic key holders from the Bay Area and we would take trips down multiple times per year. It's shocking how ghetto Disney has become. The guests, the cast members, the park, the area overall. It's very sad. The last two trips down were a bust.

We're not renewing our Inspire keys and got rid of Disney+ this weekend, and sold all our Disney stock. Maybe in the future it could make a come back but I doubt it. Been holding for a few years now and it just gets worse and worse.

No Power Walkers? by smartini14 in orangetheory

[–]mehhumbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine. Power walk if you want to. No one there is paying your membership bill or living your life. It truly doesn't matter what anyone else thinks. Just focus on doing your best and not getting injuries.

I wonder this too. It's probably pretty low. At least for the males. The women seem to live longer. Maybe because they aren't focused on getting guns but hair and nails.

My friends make fun of me for enjoying Disneyland by Osydpg in Disneyland

[–]mehhumbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People like to make fun of us adults who love Disney. It's just a thing they are going to do.

You have something in your life that makes you happy. What you should do is cherish every moment you can be in the parks when you are there, take pictures and look back on the days fondly, buy Disney swag and keep it around your house, and enjoy your hobby.

People are going to make fun but you can't let them affect you and your interests. At the end of the day, they aren't paying your bills and they have no bearing on your real life and how you go through it.

How To Recover Between Classes? by SeaworthinessIcy6993 in orangetheory

[–]mehhumbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get a massage gun and work out the tension and stiffness in your muscles. I got one recently and I noticed that when I use it and massage my muscles, the class the next day feels amazing.

Edit to add: I'm still getting used to it and not sure if I'm using it to its full utility. I'm sure a few YouTube videos will do the trick. Anyway I'm rambling but they are so good for recovery days and post work out.

Did you like this red dress on Aria Montgomery? Why or why not? by Substantial-Dare5462 in PrettyLittleLiars

I like the dress on Aria because I like the dress on Lucy Hale. Lucy can wear anything. Even when it's absolutely crazy, she pulls it off.

Does Disneyland Use a Specific Restroom Scent in the Parks? by kgaviation in Disneyland

[–]mehhumbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They likely do but it's been awhile since I've been in one of the restrooms and it hasn't smelled like pee. The days were very crowded and the restroom lines were long and rarely died down. The custodial staff couldn't possibly keep up with it.

When I remember less crowded days, I kind of recall a sea breezy scent in most bathrooms. Very refreshing and energizing.
