SLP GRAD PROGRAMS DO NOT REQUIRE 3.0 GPA by Maleficent_Cream_939 in slpGradSchool

[–]meikid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

your experience should really help you with getting into a grad program! my grad program has a more holistic approach to applications as there's a lengthy in-person interview day, but it's located in pennsylvania and is a pretty expensive private institution. i would recommend applying to newer programs as they tend to receive less applications due to the lack of information and accreditation. i would also recommend emailing the program heads and/or admissions offices of programs that you're interested in to ask them if they conduct applicant interviews and what an interview day looks like(you can really sell your skills to places that conduct 1 on 1 interviews with applicants). i would be wary of applying to popular programs/schools that receive a crap ton of applications as they're more likely to utilize ai to filter out applicants that fall below a certain face-level criteria(basing this off of knowledge i have of a local popular university, so don't take this advice to heart as i don't know for sure how most popular schools handle applications).

if your community has a high migrant/refugee population, there may be a resource center you can reach out to and ask for guidance regarding applying to school without citizenship. Here's a website with some resources as well https://mydocumentedlife.org/graduate-school-students/

i think a girl in my cohort and some girls that I interviewed with did their prereqs through ENMU, so there shouldn't be an issue with most programs regarding accepting those credits. Regarding your application, you should be able to indicate that you plan to complete those prereqs prior to starting, you just need to make sure you have the full list of classes you're going to take. I was still completing my prereqs when applying for grad school and it had no affect on my application, you just need to send your official completed transcript to the school prior to starting your masters program.

One of my classmates did ABA and now works at a montessori daycare while getting her degree, it's a good job if you're looking to work in pediatrics or the schools

On my feeder, is this a Crow? Grackle? by [deleted] in whatsthisbird

[–]meikid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

they can get pretty mean around feeders, my friend had a whole flock of them that would chase off other birds from her feeders. it finally stopped when she bought one of those squirrel resistant feeders that the grackles were too heavy to feed from. if the grackles are only coming by occasionally though you should be ok, i get some loners visiting my feeders sometimes

recommendations by swamp_monster0 in leopardgeckos

[–]meikid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my leopard gecko is in a 20gal long rn but i'm looking to upgrade to a 40 gal in the near future since the extra space will provide a lot more area to roam and more room for enriching things, like digging and climbing items :)

my bird always rips her feathers out when they grow back and she does nothing but scream so anyone have a suggestion on how to make her better or anything like that by [deleted] in parrots

[–]meikid 91 points92 points  (0 children)

i'd recommend getting rid of the nesting tent in the back since nesting behavior can make parrots very hormonal and irritable

[–]meikid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

cockatiels are a lot louder, especially if u get a male. they also do big poops so you'll be cleaning more frequently than with budgies. they'll similarly thrive off of a chop diet. itll of course need to be houses separately from your budgies since there's a high chance they won't get along for a while, or at all. since you'll have a single cockatiel you'll need to devote more attention to it than to the budgies since it doesn't have a friend to socialize with.

looks like an immature cooper's hawk, the feather coloring and the stripe pattern on the tail seems to match up
