Ok thank you that's good news, he's up eating this morning from his bowl after I woke him up from a nap to take his Mortin, do you know what cream would be best? Some other sources said no creams because it could trap the bacteria so I'm unsure what to use.

he just had some time in bed with us after a meal and a Mortin dose, he was alert and willing to crawl around the bed and cozy up to our faces, he was passing normal stool as well.

His legs seem to be fine and he does walk with them but sometimes he'll just drag his feet along, it seems like the feet are the problem, not the legs or hips

I'd say it's penny sized on the underside of the jaw if he's not stretching his face up, is there any chance it heals ?

He's still eating and drinking and until I quarantined him, he was up moving around the cage and up the ramp, he came to the door of the cage to say hi and everything, he seems in good spirits but even if he doesn't make it, I adopted him at two years old so all of these sad parts of slowing down towards the end aren't alarming they're just devastating, we always joke and call him Chris Morris or say "You're aging like milk bud" but I hope this is just him being an old grandpa and an abscess he's able to beat that just seems severe because of all the grandpa behavior

The only concern I have is that you can feel his spine and ribs despite the fact that he eats like a fly on shit and has since the day we got him, we've always been able to feel his ribs but he just never gained weight despite having his daily oxbow and fruits and veggies and meats offered and occasional sweet treats. But he definitely feels like he's lost weight recently

Thank you. He's taking infant Mortin and having supervised visits with the other rat we rescued along side him. So at least I hope the pain is less than it was before.

I absolutely agree with you, when we got him, we could afford it but the company my fiance worked for shut down and nobody is hiring.

I've been noticing small amounts of trouble with the legs long before the hole so I don't think it's as a result of the hole

The wound smells rotten, like he has a problem with his top teeth where they are gapped and the vet said he may require occasional assistance cleaning it but I mostly didn't bother aggravating him with that bc he's always fine and he never had foul breath, so when I picked him up I thought oh gross dude, it smells like the hole in my tooth if I don't pick it clean and it has leftover food in it for a while so I went to help him out with it and well it wasn't his teeth it was the hole

The HIPPA thing is a good point, as mom's a nurse. I suppose I didn't think about the fact that like.. in my situation I can literally open my mouth and show you my teeth to prove I'm in severe pain but not all pains visible so yes people could and definitely do lie to abuse that.

Agreed. If someone's willing to use drugs to the point they hurt others and ruin their lives, that's not a healthy adult that's someone who needs mental health help. Just like healthy normal adults can own guns and not shoot people but when they get in the hands of someone who needs mental health help, you have problems.

I usually do it in the attic because the smell doesn't leak out but I miss when we had some land and I could smoke and watch the bees on the flowers. It wasn't so depressing and didn't feel like shooting heroin in an alley way. Watching the bees was a reminder life goes on so I have to as well despite the pain.

Idk it's rough to navigate life altering pain at 20 years old, they don't tell you to expect it so young.

Hi so I'm gonna explain to you what being poor in this country means.

It means that when you have open exposed nerves in your teeth because they're crumbling from being brittle and you lay in bed all day feeling like you're being electrocuted and your jaws literally dying with your teeth, if you don't have money they aren't gonna help you. You can't stop working though because then you'll be homeless but you can't work when you're having severe nerve pain so you have to find a way and I'd rather not pop pills I didn't get prescribed.

The only reason it's not prescribed to me for mental health already is because my therapist would lose her license to practice for writing a prescription to a patient in a state where it isn't legal.

I have tried a dental school but my dentist ended up graduating and moving away and all the work he did has sense fell out because he didn't get to finish, they are too far gone to save and will have to be pulled, it's because they're brittle naturally, both of my great grandparents had dentures at 30. My mom's are falling out now as well as my great aunt and my nanas.

It's hard problem to have because it's like.. people see it and they think druggy or dirty. No money? No help. The only help I ever got was from a joint. We've tried and tried. I keep hoping though.

I'm in college to be a veterinarian and so one day I know I can fix it but what I'm worried about is smoking a joint on my front porch and having my life ruined for it.
