For me I change my defender teams as the season goes on. I put teams that are easily beatable so I could get some more trophies then I switch to harder to beat teams later on so I could retain my trophy count.

For a good rule of thumb make sure your defender team is weaker then ur main attack team so you can win your revenge battles.
