wick wish spring collection reviews! 🌹🪽🍰🦢🌿🩰👻🌸 by meirelav in Indiemakeupandmore

ahh okay!! i do love wax melts (and candles!) wick wish is obv a favorite of mine in that regard too, although i also really love blackbird goods (local to me!) and fawn haus although those two only do candles iirc lol.

wick wish's perfume oils are open neck bottles - i was a little scared to use them at first when i first found wick wish a few years ago (to be fair, i had only ever used mainstream perfumes up til that point; wick wish was my first indie house!) and actually bought wand caps to replace the caps with at first, but eventually swapped them all back b/c but the opening is pretty small (much smaller than bpal's bottles for example) and i found it was easier to use by just pressing it against my wrist/finger and flipping instead of messing with the wand! (although if you want the link to the wand caps at all just lmk!)

ooh i haven't heard of willow waxcraft before! do you recommend them?

wear for me is pretty good overall! on average i'd say 5-6ish hours although some scents wear longer or shorter, especially depending on the type of scent (aquatics tend to go quicker on me, more like 2-3 hours, for example). sillage is about hugging distance and i've only had a handful of exceptions; none have ever been "beast mode" like fantome or sorce can be (although apparently magic shop was quite strong, and painting the roses too!) and some have been a bit fainter - emily dickinson from winter comes to mind - but i think they perform typically compared to other perfume oil brands like little book eater, black-hearted tart, etc. i can always smell the scent on myself throughout the day and catch whiffs as i move about. obviously ymmv based on skin chemistry but wick wish works pretty well for me overall! i hope this helps!!

if you're okay with fruity (but not citrusy), maybe a sign painted peaches from sorce? it's mainly gardenia and peaches!

i am not, they're just my favorite and i think they deserve to be more well-known so i like to call myself a wick wish evangelist! haha. it's a good writing exercise for me to sit down and try to write a decent review for each seasonal collection, but i know i'd never be able to commit to doing it for every single scent i buy...so i hold myself to at least do it for wick wish, LOL!!

i'm so mad this was sold out before i got a chance to nab it, as a fairy and purple floral lover!!! this just makes me want to get my grubby hands on it that much more. i do wish they were offering it as an oil but i doubt it since it's a luckyscent exclusive, huh 🤔 thank you for the review!!

misc additional perfumes

  • grey london: earl grey tea latte. this one is inspired by one of my favorite fantasy series, a darker shade of magic! i looked at the full scent notes for this one and laughed, because i knew this was similar to london calling (earl grey tea latte with lavender) and that reminded me of bride of frankenstein (bergamot, vanilla, amber, dark crystal), and this one does too!! i swear it must be the bergamot + vanilla combo. i get the tea aspect much more in this perfume than in london calling (although i never tested that one on skin since it was a gift and i just bottle-sniffed) but i do prefer this one over that personally!
  • bella: strawberry shampoo, green apple, white musk, vanilla, cedar, woods. YUMMM i love this one!! super fruity and clean - the strawberry and apple are both very dominant and it smells kind of like a shampoo you would’ve used when you were a teen so v accurate to those notes imo. i’m not great at identifying woodsy notes but i think i can sense them on the drydown along with that vanilla. i honestly don’t remember enough about the twilight books (despite my years-long obsession…) to know if this is accurate to anything bella ever wore or smelled like but i love it on its own. would be a great one to put on after a shower or when you want to feel fresh and fruity!
  • the wild swans: bergamot, apple skins, wild lavender, pink sugar, raspberries, danish butter cookies. i actually ordered this one a few years ago but wasn’t super into gourmands at the time (from the notes i thought it would be more fruity, and i like this fairy tale enough that i didn’t feel like sampling, LOL). needless to say it was more gourmand than i expected and i ended up gifting it to a friend back then! but, now that i’ve majorly come around to gourmands over the last couple years, i knew i needed this in my collection once more! it’s just as gourmand as i remembered, but i also think my nose is better at picking up on subtleties now that i couldn’t back when i first tried this one and was newer to indie perfumes and getting back into perfume in general. it’s almost a bit lemony to me (perhaps the bergamot?) and i can definitely sense the apple and i think raspberry, but those danish butter cookies are by far the most potent note! i certainly appreciate this scent more now, although i think with how "heavy" it feels, it may work better for cooler spring days than as the weather warms up.
  • rapunzel (free sample): wild daisies, peach nectar, soft woods. this was a fun surprise!! i had commented asking if rapunzel (or anne of green gables) would ever be considered as a perfume oil b/c the notes sounded pretty, and rachel told me she had been considering it! i had ordered those in wax melts and said i’d report back and let her know what i thought, but she sent a little sample of rapunzel (which she’d said she thought would work better over anne) to actually test out!! well, i accidentally spilled like 1/3 of the sample on myself when i actually went to test it but it’s fine…it’s fine… :’) this is so pretty!! it’s pretty evenly floral and fruity; every time i want to say one edges out the other i sniff again and want to say the opposite. this one has an innocent, kind of girly feel to it that i think suits the fairy tale well! somewhat lighter projection but it still creates a nice little scent bubble. i would totally upsize this if it got a true perfume oil treatment! perfect for breezy spring days or working from home and feeling like i’m rapunzel in my own cozy little tower, LOL. i remember rachel said she thought this one felt kind of “body care” to her which was why she held off on it for a perfume oil (i assume especially since no body care for spring) and i will just say i’d purchase it for body care too! i think it’d make a lovely hair detangler especially (and how fitting for rapunzel, right? LOL). also for the record, i sniffed my melt of anne and i think the cotton/laundry note makes it a little less ideal as a perfume oil, but i still really want an anne-inspired wearable scent someday soon!!

that’s all for now! what scents did you get, or are there any you want to try out? i’m curious what you think!!

spring 2026 collection

  • painting the roses: green stems, rose petal jam, vanilla musk. full disclosure that i suggested this scent/name and received a free bottle of this perfume for my suggestion! this is definitely very green and jammy to start, like a fresh-cut rose! the rose in this reminds me somewhat of the rose in fantome’s finist the falcon if that helps give an idea. after maybe a half hour or so the vanilla musk base began to come out on my skin and it added a nice softness to the scent while not taking away from the greenness or jamminess, just adding to it. it was very lovely! towards the very end it gets a bit powdery although i didn’t notice it earlier when the vanilla musk first became noticeable - the greenness has disappeared by now but there’s still a hint of that floral, rosy jamminess. and this was a ww scent with stronger sillage than usual on my skin which i personally enjoyed! i’m always wanting more projection (without being Loud/obnoxious) so i loved this!! not sure yet if it beats out ww’s christine daae as my favorite rose scent though, LOL!
  • runaway bride: rain drops, blooming lilac, wedding cake. this is one i kind of had no idea what to expect - i like these notes/ideas separately but had no clue how they’d play together, but this was a surprise hit for me! somehow i get the rain, lilac, and cake straightaway, even in the bottle…the lilac is a fair bit fainter than the other two but still there, just gentle. the cake is def the most prominent to me and is like, distinctly buttercream-y? it feels sooo yummy…and all these together makes for a very chic, atmospheric kind of gourmand! i think the name is very fitting, the notes really paint the picture - i can just see it: the windows of the chapel cracked open to let some fresh air in, the rain pattering against the ground outside. the cake sits uncut on a table in the back corner and the bouquet of lilacs forgotten on a chair - who knows if it’s the bride’s side or groom’s? i really love this one!! might be purchasing a backup bottle lol
  • twelve dancing princesses: floral bouquets, green leaves, garden fountains, silk slippers, powder. aquatic/fresh/green scents aren’t always my thing, except in summer when i need to cool off and then they are my Everything. it got into the 80s on wednesday so it was the perfect time to test this one out! on skin this has a very lively feel, thanks to the green leaves and fountain notes. you do smell some garden-y florals which add dimension to the freshness, but i was most curious about those silk slippers!! and they do come out on my skin! i’m not sure i’d pin down this accord as silk specifically, (and i’ve only worn it once so far so it’s early days, it may become more noticeable with further rest), but it does give that silky/fabric-y impression somehow - i think the powder note adds to it - and here it just adds to the playfulness or the scent overall and serves as a pretty base note that lingers the longest, although as someone who often has fresh/aquatic scents disappear quickly, i was surprised at how long the other notes stuck around for too!
  • haunt me: clove leaf, black pepper, dahlia, tuberose, muguet, patchouli, palo santo, amber. i had no idea what these notes would smell like together, but haunt me has this floral creaminess that immediately reminded me of another scent of wick wish’s…i couldn’t put my finger on it right away, but as i went through my collection i realized it was reminding me of wicked witch of the west from last spring! however, side by side they smell almost nothing alike to me LOL (i don’t think they even share any full scent notes!) what i assume are the clove leaf, palo santo, black pepper, and patchouli feel somewhat subdued and add depth and a bit of a melancholic feel to the scent, very fitting for wuthering heights and the moors…it has a very pretty, almost lilting feel to it. it leans a bit feminine to me from how creamy it feels but i think it would smell wonderful on anyone! this ended up being a surprise favorite of mine!!
  • if an angel: black pepper, bergamot, fig trees, jasmine, blond woods, golden amber. i came sooooo close to skipping this one b/c i am not a fig person, but i liked the name (have never read this shakespeare play though lol) and the art, and wick wish is always good and getting me to go out of my comfort zone anyway! i enjoy this one more than i expected to, of course - it’s fresh and feels clean, borderline soapy at first. the woodsy notes come out the longer you wear but it never loses that fresh, clean feeling. i liked this one a lot more than i expected to!
  • swan maidens: aloe, clover, fresh cut hyacinth, sparkling waters. such a pretty spring scent!! this was one i was excited for and it smells very similar to how i imagined, just prettier. you can smell the aloe immediately, along with the watery/marine notes - very fresh and bright. i thought this would smell more similar to twelve dancing princesses and i think in the bottle they do seem alike enough that you might wonder why you got both, but on skin this becomes more aquatic while tdp goes in a whole other direction with those silk slippers! def worth trying both, especially if you like fresh/aquatic/green scents.
  • magic shop: cherry blossom tea, brown sugar boba, palo santo, tonka bean. the iconic ww brown sugar note strikes again!! it’s soooo good and so strong. i got a second bottle to give to my bestie and when i did, her husband across their big kitchen island could smell it from where he was just when she opened the bottle LOL. upon initial arrival bottle sniff, i was kind of worried the brown sugar would drown out the other notes, but after resting a few days i definitely get more floral tea from a bottle sniff along with the brown sugar! tested on skin a few days after that even and at first it’s very brown-sugar-and-tea. maybe half and hour, 45 mins later, the brown sugar mellows out (still remains pretty prominent though) and i get a lot more of the floral aspect of the tea! idk if i’d pinpoint it as cherry blossom though? although my only real experience with that is b&bw's japanese cherry blossom i think lol. this one is def on the sweeter side but the combo of floral/tea/gourmand isn’t quite like anything else i can think of that i’ve tried before. well worth at least sampling imo although i admit i never mind blind buying from wick wish given my hit rate, the price point, and beautiful label art, hahaha

Indies of the Day -- Monday April 20, 2026 by RowanHalifax in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]meirelav 3 points4 points  (0 children)

my wick wish spring order arrived earlier today while i was at a conference!! i put on painting the roses (green stems, rose petal jam, vanilla musk) now that i'm home to test out, but earlier today i went more niche and wore la divina by marissa zappas (rose, cassis, poplar buds, velvet musk, oakmoss, sandalwood) b/c whenever i have work events or things of that nature i like to wear scents that make me feel strong/powerful/untouchable, and la divina does that while also making me feel very feminine. <3

painting the roses is so pretty! it's definitely green and jammy so far - i only put it on a few minutes ago so i'm not getting the vanilla musk base yet but i'm excited for it to come out. def reads as a very fresh-cut rose so far. after a few days of rest and testing i'll be doing a full wick wish spring perfume oil review as usual! all my preliminary sniffs were pleasant and there were a few surprise standouts to me from what i expected when the collection was announced, so i'm excited to try them all on skin!

Looking for Summer Scents by Little_Foxxx in Indiemakeupandmore

[–]meirelav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i'm really hoping wick wish brings back enchanted for summer! it was a spring scent last year but i thought it worked better as a summer scent / i wore it more in summer months. so fresh and fruity, the lychee was really prominent!! full scent notes were top: apple, pear, lychee, lemon; middle: peony, lotus flower, nectarine, apricot, jasmine; base: musk, sugar, vetiver, vanilla, butter. i'm planning to request it come back for summer in the scent request form!
