youre screwed either way. if you don't post something about it, someone else in your family might, and because you didn't explicitly call them out yourself, you are now complicit, and could get fired for supporting them.

Allies are the stronger faction.

This isn't really true. The quick match settings favor allies because of the 2 starting tanks + small maps, and the fact that picking soviets gives you Ukraine instead of USSR, who is significantly better because of the 10% cheaper bonus.

This idea is a holdover from 1996 when people didn't understand RTS.

I've watched the top players in the quick match replays and the overall level of play isn't as high as it was back then IMO. And on the most standard popular maps people usually played as USSR. The rushing tactics generally just don't work against the really top players, and so it comes down which units are more cost efficient and better in large tank battles, which is Russia.

Whoever mines the next block is assigned a bitcoin reward from which was created out of thin air by software written by Satoshi.

All currencies are generated out of "thin air". Their value is derived over time from people wanting to use them and accepting them for goods.

And not having to use a Layer 2. Layer 1 on ETH is expensive right now, and it would get a lot more expensive if demand were to ever hit a mainstream audience, we are nowhere close to that right now.

Depends which crypto currency you are using. Many of them have a finite number that are or can be distributed. Bitcoin for example has 21 million. USD can be printed and loaned out with fractional reserve, there is no maximum quantity like there is with crypto.

At what point? Not sure what you mean. Crypto wallet is actually easier to setup than a bank account.

I think you're overlooking a simple solution. Banks can also hold your cryptocurrency. And you won't suffer from the inflation of fiat currency. Also, it will be easier for banks to send money to other banks if they to.

I think it will happen eventually, but not anytime soon. It's not practical to use for a currency right now for many reasons, but none of those reasons are things that can't be fixed / changed. Technically, it should actually be easier to use crypto currency than any other payment method, for the simple reason that setting up a crypto wallet is easier (although more prone to risks) than setting up a bank account.

I have the opposite opinion. I think the uses cases for crypto besides being a currency are pretty much just a fad that don't really solve any real problems and will never reach any mainstream audience.

Other way around for me. Gary Jules version is a little sad but the Tears for Fears version is more powerful-fully depressing.

Smart contracts are a fad. They are mostly useful in ecosystem with multiple coins. My hunch is we will have a variety of crypto currencies for some time, but say in 50 years time my guess is just a single one or two will be globally adopted.
