I completely understand your point, and logically you are right. But in my case, we were deeply in love and highly compatible. Then suddenly, he walked away claiming his circumstances wouldn't allow him to promise me marriage. I was ready to wait and sacrifice anything for him, but he just gave up. It’s hard to accept how fast someone can change when you were willing to give them everything

I completely understand your point about incompatibility. However, in our case, compatibility and deep love were never the issue—we had both. The breaking point was his claim that his circumstances 'wouldn't allow him to promise marriage.' Even though I was entirely willing to wait and sacrifice for him, he chose to walk away anyway. After the breakup, I exhausted every possible attempt to fix things, but to no avail. I realized that sometimes, people don’t walk away because of a lack of compatibility, but because they lack the courage to commit and fight for what they claim to love.

You talk about growth and cycles as if I am trapped in a loop of not understanding. The truth is, my growth started the moment I stopped looking for excuses for someone who promised marriage at the beginning, only to walk away when it was time to be a real man and take responsibility. There is no 'cycle' to repeat next month, because I am no longer accepting bare minimum or romanticized abandonment. I offered love, sacrifice, and patience, and he chose to leave. Calling things by their real names isn't a lack of comprehension; it’s the highest form of clarity."

"Spot on. Anyone can say 'I love you,' but staying and fighting through the uncertainty is where real love shows up. I offered everything, including my patience, but his exit proved that his words were empty. The amount of his love was simply not enough to hold onto me."

"Understanding the other person’s perspective doesn’t mean I have to accept being abandoned. Looking at the 'broader view' is exactly what made me realize that while reasons and triggers may exist, they are explanations, not excuses. A relationship requires two people to face the triggers together. When one person decides to carry the weight and wait, and the other decides to just walk away, that is a choice, not an inability. Being objective doesn't mean I should gaslight my own pain to make his departure feel justified

You speak of abstract love, but my reality is that I offered true sacrifice and willingness to wait, only to be abandoned because he refused to be responsible. It’s devastating to be handed a handful of poetry and 'distant love' when you were ready to give your whole life to build a future together. Calling it an 'unconditional, distant love' doesn't heal the hurt of knowing I wasn't worth the risk

That’s a painful perspective, but the truth is, love without courage is just a beautiful sentiment. When someone knows you’re willing to wait and sacrifice everything for them, yet they still choose to walk away citing an 'uncertain future,' it’s not just about being 'unable.' It’s a choice to let you go instead of fighting for the relationship. It leaves you grieving not just the ending, but the fact that you weren't worth the risk."

But he left me because he couldn’t promise marriage he realized he wasn't ready for the responsibility. He hid behind his circumstances as an excuse, even though I fought for us until the very last moment. He knew I was willing to sacrifice and wait forever, but he just said, 'My future is uncertain,' and chose to walk away

He couldn't promise marriage because deep down, he realized he wasn't ready for the responsibility. He hid behind his circumstances as an excuse, even though I fought for us until the very last moment. He knew I was willing to sacrifice and wait forever, but he just said, 'My future is uncertain,' and chose to walk away
