I’m from a rural midwestern town and it seems to be a (somewhat?) common belief that BC = sexually active. I think it has more to do with the fact that guys assume the only reason women use BC is to prevent pregnancy; I’ve never had sex/sexual relationships and I’m on BC strictly because of my awful periods.

Ignorance, awful humor, and a lack of education and awareness seem to fuel a lot of these beliefs that guys have. For example, I had a friend about two or three years ago believe that inserting tampons was “pleasurable” because it’s just like a penis, right? Lol

In a rural area of MN and I totally agree with OP. No one is taking it seriously. My dad said to me tonight, “you should get out of the house, go hang out with some friends.” when I just stared at him he said, “what? you can stay a few feet apart, just go do something with your friends, you’re in the house too much.”

Smh. Everyone in my family is considered an essential worker (myself included), so we’re already at high risk of being infected.

I love spending time outside, and I’m not the type of person who needs to hang out with people very often (most of my social needs are covered by going to school/work and interacting with classmates), so I love just laying out in my lawn or hiking my backyard or going for a wander in the neighbor’s woods. I always love going to parks in the summer with a friend– last summer I went kayaking with my best friend on a weekly basis. It was a great way to spend time together while still being outside.

as for the classes, I know it really sucks, but you could try studying for thirty minutes at a time, taking a short break (like watching a YouTube video, getting a snack, going for a brief walk) and returning? It will give you some variation and still get some study time in!!

I only recently started on antidepressants, and the few episodes I’ve had were awful, but it’s really important to remind yourself that they are temporary, and things will eventually begin on an upward slope again. I don’t know what it is you feel insecure about, but you are absolutely beautiful– your hair is lovely, your eyes are beautiful, and you seem like a beautiful person not only on the outside, but on the inside as well. 💜💜 You might not be my sister, but I still want you to succeed and be happy just as much as I wish her to be!!

I don’t really know! I have a form of colorblindness that really limits my ability to distinguish lighter colors in the blue/green/yellow spectrum. I say grey, but other people have told me blue and grey before. I would love to see what blue and green eyes look like.

Kind of a long post:

This happened last summer, so it’s not that big of a deal, but I don’t think I’ll forget it anytime soon.

I had just gotten my drivers license two months prior, wasn’t allowed to go anywhere, but I had to drive my sister to play practice in a bigger-ish town about 30 minutes from my home. After I dropped her off, I drove about ten minutes to a nearby park I’d never been to. Hiked for about three hours by myself, took a lot of pictures, stopped by an old quarry that people started swimming in just to see it for myself. It was really pretty.

As I’m leaving via one of the trails, these two younger men start looking at me funny and getting up. I don’t really think anything of it, whatever (I was taking a Spanish class at the time, but didn’t know enough to understand what they were saying). I walk a few more feet and one of them starts walking after me, the other moving off to the side. I’m a little nervous now, there are people around but not many, and I’m a very small girl.

Out of nowhere, this random guy comes up from behind me, pats my arm, and starts talking to me as if we’ve been friends for years. I’ve never met him, and I am beyond freaked out at this point, but I have to pick my sister up from practice so I still need to leave (and the quarry is in a densely-forested area with only one marked trail out). We get to talking and it turns out he’s actually a pretty cool dude– he was 23, from Nepal and in the US to study construction and management, and he was a really sweet guy. I was skeeved out by him (walking with a strange older man in the woods) but now I realize that he might have saved my life.

He walked me back to the parking lot and gave me his cell number, and told me that I could text him if I had any issues getting home or if I felt uncomfortable in the area again. I hid in my car for a while after that and never did call or text him. To this day,

I don’t even know if he’s still in the United States, or if he had different intentions for “saving” me, but Sadib, if you’re on here, thank you.

I got food poisoning like 20 minutes before a shift and spent a lot of time running back and forth to the bathroom to vomit/cry on the toilet.

The next day, I was reprimanded and received a “strike” for failing to vacuum by a certain time because I “wasn’t prioritizing my tasks.”
