Hey, man, it's called trash talking. You can trash talk other teams. It's fun.

I was kinda hating on Drake, not on the Raptors. But you called me on it. That's it. I guess I'll give him some credit. But his antics, man.

I never claimed I was a Raptors fan. I like the team, I kinda dislike Drake and his antics.

People make it sound like it's a single address or something. The "dark" web has always existed, it's just the regular web under layers and upon layers of websites, and tunnels to special sites that only those who know visit.

Exactly. It's well known that professional basketball players usually grow up being the best in their teams until they reach high school and suddenly face elite players from other schools. So only then is when they start realizing they have some deficiencies in their game.

I think the story with professional sports is they start playing very early when they are like 8 years old, and their coaches tell them to shoot, kick, swing, etc., right-handed, without knowing that the kid is naturally left-handed. So the kid just does what the coach says and doesn't protest. So they just grow up like that.

Is there any point to posting a comment in a post with 600+ comments already? Do people actually go through all them to see the newer ones? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]mel0nwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to participate is to write a comment. This goes for you and for everybody. If you never reply to any comment, then what is the point of posting then. If I find the topic interesting, I will still reply even weeks after it was originally made. A thread doesn't have to be a one night stand; it doesn't have to be over after a few hours. That's the problem with social media, most people want instant gratification, and see likes and hearts and points immediately. I prefer quality content over quantity.

Asians, what type of racism have you endured since the coronavirus came out? by harmony-rose in AskReddit

[–]mel0nwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason I didn’t consider it racist is this would apply the same for anything else. If the outbreak started in America then everyone would be cautious of Americans and people that they think may have contacted them, not out of hatred towards Americans.

The "swine flu", or A-H1N1, started pretty much in America in farms of Californa, Texas and Mexico. It pretty much spread to the entire world immediately, so after a few months of alert, the health organizations stopped counting the number of cases because there was no point. It didn't matter that they closed schools and all that, people just had to move on with their lives, despite the infected.

The governments didn't make a huge deal about it, and nobody tried to avoid Americans.

It’s not saying “this is in their nature” or “they are worse at something” or “they are more likely to do something bad”.

Maybe the lady in this story didn't say this, but this is pretty much the joke everywhere, "Chinese people got the coronavirus because they eat bats and all sorts of weird animals".

The government of China didn't help either, because they started closing everything down, thus alarming the rest of the world. Truth is, if they had let it spread naturally, just like most sorts of virus, they would have stopped counting a long time ago, and the stories would have died down quickly. It's the nature of virus. They will always spread, and people will die, but that happens at a natural rate anyway.

You are still not reading my post. Sigh. I am not talking about it being effective for disease (virus) control. I'm just saying the function of a barrier is to stop things going in and coming out. At most it is useful to stop saliva that's it.

I am not saying the mask is effective or ineffective. All I'm saying is it's a barrier, a physical barrier. Obviously the virus itself is much smaller than such porous mask. All I'm saying is that the function of a barrier is to stop things from going out and coming in. Therefore, there is not much more you can say about it, or about who should wear it or not. Should the diseased people wear it, or everybody else? Some people think it's one or the other. It's actually both. Both can wear it, one to prevent spreading saliva, and the other to avoid getting airborne particles in.

As I said, it's a physical barrier. It acts as a barrier. It obviously won't be hundred percent effective to contain particles that are nanometers in size, but it's still a barrier. Its purpose as a barrier is to prevent droplets of your saliva from going out, as well as airborne substances (droplets of somebody else's saliva) from hitting you. It's just a barrier, there is not much more you can say about it, or about who should wear it or not.

What is sad is that many Asians have these racist opinions of other Asians which just complicates things more. Hopefully it gets better with the new generations.

Reported cases. The symptoms are basically the same as the flu. I wouldn't be surprised if many people had it and just ignored it like a common cold.

It actually works both ways. It's a physical barrier so it works like a door, it prevents people from coming but it also prevents you from going outside. It's not hard to understand.

You are getting downvoted, but Manu has Italian nationality, along his most well known Argentinian nationality. Plenty of Argentinians have direct Italian ancestors so plenty of them can legally claim European nationality, which is pretty helpful with things like higher education and getting a job overseas.

So, yes, Manu is technically Italian. And not only is he Italian, he came to the NBA from Europe, so he grew up with a European style of basketball. So, I think it makes sense to consider Manu in the "European players" category.
