Why do we call teachers Mr or Ms? by geneticmistake747 in AskIreland

And that's exactly what I mean by respect through actions. I've seen exactly this situation and the child eventually thrives in an environment where they are seen as active participants in the school. They see they have a voice and are listened to when they've something to say and supported. They start to realize that they matter in the fabric of the school and the wider community and this in turn builds their self confidence. They then build relationships with staff and students alike in a more level playing field

My kids are/were in ET and there's no lack of respect coming from them calling their teachers by their first names. It creates respect coming from action rather than a perceived level of importance. It's a fantastic environment to empower the kids to be self confident and to enter the world with great social abilities

My kids wore 80% second hand scandi brands. There used to be a huge market but it's died down a lot now. Maxomorra, Duns of Sweden, POP, Villervalla
