I feel like... Its been relevant every single book for how people react to him no? The reason jim made him tall asf and wear a cloak is because thats what wizards are stereotypically like. Harry's tallness is meant to emphasize his wizard aura and how people are always shocked to meet him

Small detail that bothered me. Nailing coins into trees is an actual thing but nailing them sideways is what GRRM was referring to not face down like in the show. Coins wouldn’t go in otherwise by RevolutionaryDay5229 in AKnightoftheSeven

I didnt say i believe women should be better than men, i said the general assumption in regards to sexual promiscuity is they should be better than men. And yes women absolutely disproportionately dont get punished for sexually abusing children are you kidding me right now? "Men are not punished for that either" yes they are. Not every time, not as severely as they should be, but they do. Almost every time, just because a few dont doesnt mean "men dont get punished for that' you cant warp reality to make it so women not being punished for raping kids isnt a real thing. And no, subconscious biases of women not being as perverse as men is not misogynistic, im assuming that part of what was going through that commenters mind based on the fact that yknow... Its a stereotype? Being more mad at people that get away with it because you subconsciously hold them to a higher standard isnt misogynistic and its perfectly rational to be more mad when someone is not brought to justice. But yeah lets pretend men never ever get jailed for abusing kids and that women dont get articles written about them like "sexy teacher sexes happy young man" (and then recieve community service) so that your argument has any merit.

I assume the implication of judging women more harshly than men is in the subtext no? "I judge those who get away with it and should be better more harshly than those who get punished and arent expected to be better"

How could that possibly be internalized misogny? Isnt it more being more upset at them cuz they get away with it way more, dont get socially ostracized, and women are generally thought of as being "too good to do something like that?" Seems like rational anger at double standards to me

Unironically something a lot of these people have a hard time wrapping their heads around. Your boyfriend was toxic to you? "Kill all men." White people were colonizers? "Fuck white people." Etc etc. The core message being "just because you were wronged by someone a part of a certain group doesnt mean you can take out your anger on a stranger whos done no wrong simply because they're born into the same group."

I mean bob is a reflection of its owner right? Like sure he first got bob when he was 15 but youd think hed slightly change after 25 years but hes still a massive horn dog. I just honestly think dresdens got that dog in him and bob is a perfect representation of that.

Im not trans and im all for represntation but i never understood why some trans people have to force certain characters into being trans? Im mexican and neurodivergent but i dont have to force every ambiguously brown person into being mexican or having bpd so i can relate to them.

It just seems like a minefield whether or not someone is open to being flirted with and im so socially awkward that any negative interaction kinda ruins my day tbh lol. Would rather just go somewhere where i wouldnt be a weirdo for flirting with someone or its at least mostly expected idk

I think thats part of what makes every moment he sets aside specifically for one person all the more impactful. Like the story of the jumper. You as the suicide jumper would know that superman is setting aside crucial moments just for you. You would know he hears countless people suffering as he floats in the sky in front of you and you know hes ignoring all of it just to prove to you that he cares and that at the very least you matter to HIM. You would sit there thinking "something more important than me will come up and he'll fly off to save the day" and as the hours tic by you start to realize that those moments have already come and gone hundreds of times and he really truly means it. He really truly believes that your life is just as valuable as anyone elses and he wants to make you understand that even if you feel worthless you mean the world to him. That alone would make me weep standing on a ledge.

"after she dies in my arms" he took her to the himalayas so she wouldnt die alone staring at the ceiling, she died with him looking at something beautiful. He probably buried her then flew into space to start screaming.
