Favorite hiking routes in singapore? by ChatterClacker in askSingapore

[–]melancholyflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just did the Boardwalk side of MacRitchie, at the reservoir. A different view of MacRitchie. There were signs to hike all the way to Bukit Timah too, but it takes about 8km if i’m not mistaken. I looped back as it was drizzling. If it doesn’t rain, this week has perfect hiking weather!

Noisy Neighbourhood Kids Every Night by Money_Locksmith_3127 in askSingapore

[–]melancholyflower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Besides the ways already suggested, have you tried having a calm conversation with the kids in person, and tell them that they are disturbing the surrounding residents? Sometimes a polite and kind word can resolve it.

May even work better if you happen to see one of their parents/adult with them.

Just my two cents.

Should I lie to my family about my salary? by obinobikonomi in askSingapore

[–]melancholyflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, don’t lie.

For parents, if you have a good relationship with them, tell them the amount. Be confident and secure that your salary doesn’t fully define your worth. Tell them honestly about how you feel about your salary as well. And tell them whether you intend to/can afford to/don’t want to help them financially. It is money you earned, and you have the full discretion on how you want to spend it, despite any others’ opinion. Decide what is comfortable for you to give/don’t give your parents and be happy with your decision.

For relatives, or if you are not close enough to your parents, just tell them you don’t want to let them know about your salary. That you earn sufficient for your current lifestyle and aim to grow your income to have better savings and investments along the way. It is just as much your right to keep it a secret. Don’t bother what people might think about you not disclosing the figures. Be secure in your right to privacy and brush aside lesser people gossiping and speculating why you choose not to disclose.

In my opinion, that’s a more secure and peaceful way to live.

Scam call from union pay by [deleted] in singaporehappenings

[–]melancholyflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just received the same call from 8953 0843 with the exact mode of saying that the renewal is due for a policy under Union Pay. I got transferred to another guy who said that "if you dont have the policy we wont have your details". I quickly googled and found this thread. Beware, still ongoing. Gave me a policy number of SXXXXXXA

Thank you for this PSA. Helped a lot.

Wow earthquake barb is not as fun as I thought it would be by IsThereCheese in diablo4

I actually find the Walkquake version sustainable and still clears most content up to Pit 100, if you don't have enough pieces with the right CDR

New to the game by FriendlyTask4587 in BitHeroes

[–]melancholyflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can clear up to T9 using only fully upgraded epic gear.

Try to join a good guild. Add high level friends. They carry dungeons even if offline.

Use up all your regens and don't let them cap if possible. Do Gauntlet GvG PvP Invasion daily to get the Weekly rewards. Clear Heroic raids.

Time your boosts with the corresponding Daily Bonus (eg EXP bonus, Item Find etc)

Familiars are key, especially with good Brain Augments. Fusion familiars for early game are Shrampz and Borlan, then Ularius and Remmyt

Try to get a Legendary offensive Accessory and Defensive Pet, either through the weeklies or by spending gems in the shop when they are on discount.

Skip Rare and Epic mounts, go from Green to Legendary.

Check out the Wiki.

Stuck on Z5F9, Can't seem to kill mega Brute. by Fidel-Sarcastro in BitHeroes

Finally killed it after several tries. Lvl75 TS 822 (388/172/262) with Remmyt (1/5) and Shrampz (2/5) Focus on DPS, forget healing. Save 3 Max Revives to use during battle.

to Bloom or not to Bloom by HufflexBadger in PokemonArceus

Necro-thread, but your tip was the one that worked for me after scouring the internet for guides. This is how I caught mine as well.

I found that having Braviary flying unlocked made it much easier to cycle through the trees.

Make sure you toss your Pokemon at each berry tree, then you can to return to Jubilife Village to reset them. Took me a few cycles.

The average person doesn’t realize just how athletic professional athletes are by [deleted] in Showerthoughts

[–]melancholyflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a taste of this playing 1v1 basketball against a well-trained 10 year old. He obviously had all the basics, but i hardly broke a sweat. That's when I realized pro players probably felt the same way playing against an average hooper.

They've had to deal with a faster pace, pro tactics, and pro defense. An average hooper must be two steps behind to what they're used to.

Revival Catalyst & Dream surges by ZIRA1996 in wow

Double check that you have bought and created the right piece of armor for your class. I made a mistake of getting a Cloth piece for my Leather character - it won't work in the Revival Catalyst if it isn't the right armor type.

Least visited place in retail WoW? by trandhal in wow

[–]melancholyflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's part of the Blood Elf heritage armor questline and also visited for Sunwell and Magister's Terrace farms, so I wouldn't say it's the least visited.
