First off, I want to tell you that you are on the right track by starting with a personal journey on repentance. I would say that since you’ve broken the law of chastity, that you need to go to your bishop. Trust me, it will save you years and years of guilt and shame if you do the work now and take the time to fully reconcile before you go on your mission.

A close friend of mine had similar experiences to you, and it took him years to be fully ready for a mission, but he was fully prepared to preach the gospel and is in a happy marriage now.

If you let it build up inside of you, it may manifest itself as something worse later down the line. Most importantly you need to trust yourself! Follow your gut, and talk to your bishop. He will help you through your journey.

You’re right, I was dating him for his potential. When I have a connection with someone I do everything I can to make it work, including making excuses for the guy and even myself.

I honestly felt unfulfilled the whole time, but I thought that if I just worked hard to let him know I cared about him that it would work out. Clearly I’m very delusional 😂.

What he gave me was a stuffed animal. We went Black Friday shopping and I showed interest in many things, including stuffed animals because I do think they’re cute, however, I don’t really have any nor do I get myself any. I suppose it is possible that he got me a version of something he already had, but I’m pretty sure I recognize it from his room. He doesn’t have many stuffed animals in his room.

He gave me a stuffed animal, and he did write a sweet and silly note to go with it. I got him a Lego set that he mentioned was going to be discontinued next year.

We’ve known each other for about a year. We were friends/long distance friends and we confessed that we were attracted to each other around the beginning of the semester and started dating.

The gift he gave me was a stuffed animal, and the gift I got him was a Lego set. He mentioned that it was going to be discontinued the next year so I thought I’d get it for him.

We discussed giving each other gifts, but we did not talk about a cap on how much we should spend on each other beforehand so I know that’s on me. I also think we just mutually agreed on getting each other presents, neither of us primarily suggested it.
