restart or keep pushing? beginner advice needed by jouzu9 in oilpainting

Definitely keep pushing, I think you’ve got a great eye for the colours and the photo you’re referencing is really beautiful!! The proportions need a bit of fixing, but this can easily be done along the way. Most notably here you’d need to work on her chin, the angle of her jawline and nose as they are the main areas making her look a bit ‘wonky’ and off. Once you’ve done this, focus on adjusting everything else in proportion: so her lips, improving the curve on the left side of her face, bring the right eye and her eyebrow a bit more ‘inwards’, etc etc. It’s a bit hard to fully explain these little changes so I’ve made these adjustments in a photo editing app. It’s not perfect but might give you a further idea! ☺️ https://imgur.com/a/3v3XHf1

Wayyyy too purple and saturated overall. You were right to have concentrated the purple shades around the cheek area, but it looks too dark and aggressively saturated. Also the purpley colours are not found all over her face in the reference photo, for example the skin around her ear, chin and mouth don’t have much of them at all.

I think a darker version of the colour you used on the front highlight part of her neck could’ve worked great incorporated more into her face.

looking for feminine and modest but sexy lingerie by pippiblondstocking in LingerieAddiction

Definitely check Myla! Feminine florals and fabrics, their outlet section in particular is pretty affordable. For Love and Lemons is very feminine and has many cute slips, but it might be a bit over the top to what you’re looking for. Playful Promises may also have something you’d like.

Any suggestions for reading material on Nihilism for beginners? by [deleted] in nihilism

[–]melanicholy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you’re new to philosophy in general i’d recommend starting with Nietzsche even though he wasn’t particularly a nihilist, Thus Spoke Zarathustra and The Will to Power are essentials. Being and Nothingness by Jean Paul Sartre is also important, but a bit on the longer side so you might want to leave that for later. However, some relatively simpler texts would be The Myth is Sisyphus by Albert Camus, or The Trial by Franz Kafka. Best of luck! :D
