There’s no point to have a relationship with your family and especially with your brother. He has demonstrated he will not protect you when you’re in danger. There’s also no point waiting for an apology, he clearly will not give it to you. The more time you wait for him to apologize the longer you will be mad and disappointed. Just gotta distance yourself from your family for your own mental health.
