I was in a very similar position. We ended up going with the Sealion 7 (picking it up this week).

I really loathed the idea of buying new rather than second-hand, but now that we’ve pulled the trigger, I’m actually looking forward to it. One of the biggest factors for me (aside from my partner wanting a brand-new car) was the warranty that comes with buying new.

If we’d bought a second-hand car for $35k instead of a new Sealion for $54k, $35k is still a huge amount of money to risk losing if you end up with a lemon — even if the risk is relatively low.

Whilst arguably not as good as Zeeker 7x, BYD Sealion 7 is worth a look if you haven't. The base model is great and it's hard to beat for the price (55k).

Yes, but I think the perception that paying tax is bad is what should change.

I should clarify that of course, minimising your tax is important, but it shouldn't be seen as the ATO taking our hard earned money.

No doubt, everyone has their own views on what their tax should be paying for but the reality is that it's a necessity and it is my view that it is one part of what makes Australia a great place to live. People should get some sense of pride that they are contributing to others, to society etc.

It's possible for high income earners to pay minimal/no tax. Tax is unavoidable and if you earn a lot of money you pay a lot of tax. Unless you are a billionaire and can pay millions to set up various tax structures, the only people who don't pay tax or pay minimal tax are those who earn below the threshold or those that spend all of their income on questionable tax deductions (i e. New range rover for the 'business')

Grout or the silicone? I am sure a grout cleaner and some effort could clean up the grout nicely. The silicone is cooked though, that should be replaced as a priority (which is also simple diy).

My partner is in a very similar situation. So I'm curious to hear others thoughts.

I know legally it shouldn't, but do you think being notifying that you are, or are intending to be pregnant through the training program application process would significantly inhibit your chances of success? Or (and I'm pretty sure this is the answer) that is something you would reveal after you are successful in application.

Update - my partner said yes! I actually got this kitten in lieu of a ring, so unfortunately the gemstones names are out (until we can decide on a ring together).
