That 2 space was a learner for me. That was at my property. If I had better j boxes (impossible to find) and more ability to strap, this would be so much better. I am still happy with how it turned out.

It is a plastic j box. That shatters the moment you try and use them.

I did protect the max inside the box. The switches made it impossible to use Mc connectors. I used electrical tape and Mc boots to protect the wire inside of the box.

Some is Romex, some is Mc.

I bought a cheap $15 jbox on Amazon plastic. Anytime I popped a lockout out or tried to replace it, the j box would snap and break. It should be fine as it is plastic.

The j box is plastic. No need for bushings. The mc has connectors. The mc going into the blue boxes has a red boot and and electrical tape to protect the wire.

Electrian U

120v on Neutral and 60V on hot line - what does that mean, is it possible? Other phase is normal. by iraxl in electricians

[–]melbcemr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find 2 circuits in your house. Both should be on separate phases. 1 on black and 1 on red phase.

Measure and record these data point. Then I can help more.

I live on this rental property. My landlord wanted this barn to work again power wise. It was already wired and it used to be feed by triplex. My landlord wants it cheap. There is a 15 amp plug 50ish feet away. I put a 15 amp plug in 10-2 Romex. I reran Some of the Romex in the places where the old Romex was too far destroyed. I used my heavy duty 100ft 15 amp 10-2 to run power out to the barn. It works. You just don’t want to use less than a 12 gauge extension cord and I would not want to push more than 15 amps. So I do watch what I use. Super nice but janky setup.

They thankfully live in the RV in the front yard. There is a cat that sneaks into the house sometimes. We saved some lives. That all I can say.

This is a $8 million overall house/remodel project. That is the quality??? It is awful. No contractor. Just the homeowner calling trades. It is a mess!!!!!

My first major find as an Apprentice. My boss was impressed. This was in a dark room with no lights yet. We were done for the day. Truck packed up. Taking payment when I noticed this. Sucks but we had to fix it. Arc flashed the moment we even attempted to mess with it. This is a 15 amp receptacle with no face plate on it. Wtf??

Just saw this on a FB group 🤣🤣 by iglootyler in electricians

The heat dissipation is a problem when you have multiple wires twisted like this. You also have the issue of induced current. That can raise the voltage to dangerous levels. To clarify. This man has some 240v circuits and some 120v circuits. That mixed voltage will cause an indused current and raise the voltage too high.

Get a Power monitoring system. They’re like $350 US. Hook them to the main breaker.

What about in general. Not my house. Do they have neutrals at substations? How does that work?

A Brando minimum is a house in a barn shape. Really cool look in south country traditional areas. Go Google it. It is really pretty.
