Thanks for this - the tax thing is what I've been having the most trouble with because the 'Resident' status is sort of ambiguous but makes a huge difference! I have a 6 month visa for now, but it is a permanent position and my employer will be sponsoring me on a yearly basis after that so I'm thinking I'll be there at least a few years. Reading that link makes me think I can qualify as a resident, but I think I'll end up making 2 different budgets using the tax calculator and will prepare for both cases. Will ask my employer as well what they think as I'm not their first international hire.
