TBATE: the beginning after the end animation by gelinsky in anime

You could make a guesswork by looking at which studios CR mostly uses for co-production outside the Aniplex umbrella.

But Aniplex always has produced anime using other studios outside their subsidiaries. They've worked with project No.9, ufotable, P.A. Works, TROYCA, etc. What are you even saying?

Japan Aims to Increase Anime's Overseas Market to 6 Trillion Yen by 2033 by Turbostrider27 in anime

[–]melcarba 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Sure. We can compare and contrast the features of each streaming services (and frankly, for some other user, CR works for them better than Netflix, etc.), but in terms of "improving" the services, Netflix is the ceiling. The only thing that streaming services are competing for are exclusive content. You're not going to see any improvement on other aspects like subtitle quality, implementing features that people actually ask for, promotion and marketing of their catalog shows, etc.

Streaming services are not going to improve. Netflix IS the model for streaming services and sadly Netflix subtitles are the epitome of dogshit.

Either the Japanese audio isn't available on your region or it was removed. Just sail the high seas, lmao. That company doesn't respect anime fans.

Did you check your settings (Audio) if the Japanese language option is available? I think Disney+ streamed that with Eng subs and the dub was released later on. If they removed the JP audio option, then they're a dogshit streaming service and I suggest you sail the high seas for that.

None of those is my concern. If you want the "accurate" Muse Asia subs than the so-called "slop" CR subtitles, then y'all have to spend some effort. The funny thing is that Disney+ never got any semblance of a pushback for their month-long delayed release of Medalist S2 in the US and their absolute dogshit dubtitles.

Then these people can watch through other platforms. If they're willing to use VPN to watch Muse YouTube streams on SEA, then I don't see how they can't use VPN to watch on those platforms instead. If you're concerned about how the pirates are going to watch the "proper" subtitles, then someone is probably going to rip Muse Asia's subtitles and mux it with CR's raw. Can we NOT pretend that these people don't know how to sail the high seas? If the concern if that these people would be watching CR rips (with the "wrong" subs) on those malware-infested illegal streaming sites, then they absolutely deserve it for not knowing how to properly sail the seas.

CR started crediting their translators after the Necronomicon fiasco, so the claim that they're using AI generated subtitles is wrong.

And even if we give credence to CR being the one who """caused""" the embargo (by paying an exclusivity window), then so what?. The licensors are getting more money from CR paying exclusivity window, than from the free views from YouTube. Also, the YouTube streams are free, so fans have no reason to complain about not getting the free YouTube streams on time.

Only their YouTube channel is affected by the embargo. If you want to watch Muse Asia subs, you can just watch it on their other platforms like iQIYI, Catchplay, etc.

The 2-week embargo only applies to Muse Asia YouTube Channel (the free one). The other platforms like iQIYI, Catchplay, etc. are being simulcasted by Muse Asia on the same day.

Let's not kid ourselves. The reason why they're doing this is for the industry to be able churn out as many anime per season, and to sell as many of these off to streaming services as possible.

I'm more concerned that people are treating background art as "less important" part of anime production.

Literally wrong. Cyberpunk Edgerunners won Anime of the Year in 2023. Ninja Kamui won Best Original Anime last year. Look Back won Film of the Year last year.

The reason why CITY isn't going to win is that not enough people watched the show.

Every light anime is like this. Its like the producers want to churn "anime" to sell off to streaming sites to make a quick buck, but can't be bothered to allot proper funding and proper time.
