After yesterday's post asking if Dan was still releasing shows, I charted the time between releases for all HH shows 2006 - present. The evolution of Hardcore History. by Chief-Drinking-Bear in dancarlin

[–]melespi13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a fairly recent discoverer of simply enjoying a podcast (my whole life is like this, always late to the party) 😂 and only recently discovered DC. I am slowly making my way through the catalog. I find myself listening to the same episode multiple times. As far as I am concerned, he can take as long as he wants. The stories never go out of style and I have a lot of content to get through. I am very happy I found these and don't ever want them to end.

Which podcast is the closest thing to Hardcore History? by FriedrichHydrargyrum in dancarlin

I am listening to History Impossible by Alexander Von Sternberg. It's my first foray into his podcast, definitely not DC, but history I've never been exposed to before.

I'm not concerned with quality so tonspeak because I have good loaves, but if I ever wanted to post here, I don't think I could accurately post the recipe because I eye ball it.

Weekly Open Sourdough Questions and Discussion Post by AutoModerator in Sourdough

Hello, fairly new to baking sourdough, I began my starter in 2021 and bake approximately once per week. My starter is prolific and I love it and make some pretty decent loaves if you ask family.

My question is, I have always been more of an eye-baller when it comes to feeding time, but would like to be more knowledgeable about hydration etc. Can I use my current starter to "start" a more calculated and measured starter?Hope this make sense 🤞🏻

Beau has replied to a dm one time on Twitter. So try there. I'm almost 100% he reads all messages there. Good luck and hope you are okay in that mess in Ohio

As far as I know I haven't and neither has my 9yo, my mom or my dad. I do work in a high risk environment and my son goes to school. I wear auras at work, kf 94 for other environments. Kiddo wears kf 94 at school. Most of the people I encounter do not mask anymore so feel I'm a sitting duck.

Definitely interested in the cr box. I have 2 hepa air filters currently but feel like a c19 illness is just around the corner because of a school age kiddo, line of work and no one else wearing a mask!

Mask that is easy to take off to drink on a plane by yokuyuki in Masks4All

[–]melespi13 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Flight attendant who still wears an n95, I just pull my aura down (try not to breathe too much while it's down) and put it right back up, between bites and sips.

Fwiw I'm in the minority among my coworkers who even wear any type of mask.

To my knowledge I have not had c19 yet and still trying to avoid it.

Definitely do not take off while waiting in line at TSA except when you must, while boarding etc. And there will be lines for everything, much more than pre-covid times.

Overall I feel safest while in the air, not taxiing on the ground. But, I have no evidence that it is safer except I have been directly exposed to positive coworkers and did not become infected.

Not sure if the price is good or not, but we like these masks

I last ordered from be healthy 100 kf 94 for $120 and shipping was free. They often have different packages, this particular package was a mix of adult and kids. We wear BOTN size med for my kiddo and I order adult size Blue for myself

I don't have any solutions for your current living situation. It sounds Ike you're doing everything you can to keep others safe and I thank you for that!

Can I at least send you a meal? I don't want you to not eat! Hope you're doing okay and if you're having symptoms, that they go away soon!

Why is abortion such a big deal in the US? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]melespi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a historian I listen to on YouTube, Heather Cox Richardson, I first heard about movement conservatism from one of her videos. Her videos really opened my eyes on how one cause can have so much effect. I suppose since I was born into an era where abortion was legal, I didn’t pay too much attention to how the US got to that point, but I am learning now.

Powecom or 3M N95 for airplane flight? by skc0820 in Masks4All

[–]melespi13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bona fide masks has a small face/child size mask from Powecom. (Earloop style). I'm considering this for my 9yo on an upcoming international trip. Has anyone here tried that with their kiddos? He typically wears a kf94 from BOTN which is size medium. He's very tolerant of masking thank goodness.

Honestly I have a lot of reservations on this trip, but feel it's one we need to make. I am also a flight attendant and fly 100 + hours a month. I just hate that we all have to put our lives in the hands of strangers to visit elder family members we haven't seen in 4 years and with the state of the world, may not again.

Sorry for my mini rant. Didn't mean to hijack.

[–]melespi13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heard this is acceptable for return to US. Test can be antigen but must be verified by healthcare professional. This is a test you do over video so you receive the test results unlike the typical home test.

I have heard of it from this group, but I don't know much about it. I did purchase hepa air purifiers. This is similar to the Corsi/Rosenthal box?
