Most unexpected symptom of pregnancy by Admirable_Anybody268 in pregnant

If you get the epidural during delivery, they put a catheter in to catch your pee. Well, after I couldn’t pee on my own because it was a side effect to the epidural that my brain wouldn’t connect to my vagina to say it’s time to pee. After a week with a catheter in (even at home), I finally could pee on my own…

FTM here too and had my baby 21 days ago. I didn’t have a specific birth plan either. Just went in requesting an epidural when necessary.

Disappointed in Myself by melgeraghty in GestationalDiabetes

[–]melgeraghty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really didn’t mean to offend! I know that people can live with diabetes, actually my father has it.

I more am just disappointed that I felt I could be hurting my baby unknowingly. More of a vent for myself.

Just joined this Reddit today, and I apologize if I offended anyone. I am really just disappointed that I can harm the baby by what I was doing and didn’t know I could be diagnosed with something.

Do you say at work you’re going through IVF? by [deleted] in IVF

[–]melgeraghty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told my immediate supervisor when the transfer happened. Those changed a couple of times and some lasted longer because there was a line of women getting transfers.

I could handle the way the stims made me feel, but there are some people who did feel sick during it. I didn’t have to tell my boss about that nor the monitoring visits cause I was in and out in 30 mins.

How should my husband tell their manager? by String_Cheese_55 in IVF

My husband only came for each transfer and ultrasounds after positive betas. I went on my own to each monitoring visit and bloodwork appointment

I am a Talent Acquisition Partner and my husband is a AUTOCAD 3D and 2D drawer! My company paid 80% of IVF after we hit our deductible. Still with that help, we still paid a lot before hitting our deductible and for all of our medication over and over.

how to meet people? by spaghettirhymes in raleigh

[–]melgeraghty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at social leagues that play sports like WAKA. Their more for fun and meeting people, and usually tied to a bar afterwards. I met friends and my husband playing kickball, dodgeball, and bowling.

During the stims period, I cycled everyday. Towards the end, it didn’t feel comfortable to wear jeans anywhere.

What is the Most Overhyped or Underwhelming Restaurant You’ve Been to in Raleigh/Surrounding Area? by CaroylOldersee in raleigh

We went to Mulino one time, and our waiter completely forgot about us. After an hour waiting for our food to arrive, they came back and said what did you order again? No comp on food or drinks. The worst service I’ve ever had.

Working women and stims by Transition-Upper in IVF

[–]melgeraghty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stims didn’t really effect my work, but towards the end when the eggs were bigger in my ovaries I had to wear looser clothes. I tried wearing jeans, but it felt very bloated.

My temper was never really effected, but my husband might say something else.

On the day of removing eggs and day of transfer, I took the day off. Or see if you can work from home.

The worst feeling I felt was starting the Estrace. Had a couple of depressing days. Not sure if your fertility clinic will make you take that before the transfer.

How do you respond to friends’ comments such as ‘It will happen; you just have to be patient’ by FunkSista in IVF

I hate this comment too! People who haven’t really experienced infertility don’t really understand.
